Abstract: A projector for enlarging and projecting the display image on a light valve onto a screen is provided with: an infrared photodetector for photodetecting infrared light that is emitted by an electronic pen that is manipulated on the screen and that is provided with an infrared light emission device and ultrasonic generator; at least two ultrasonic receivers for detecting ultrasonic waves that are emitted by the electronic pen; means for measuring the distance to a screen; and means for supplying coordinate data in which the position of the electronic pen on the screen, which has been calculated based on output of the infrared photodetector, output of the ultrasonic generator, and output of the means for measuring the distance to the screen, has been normalized by the length of a side of a projected rectangular image that has been enlarged and projected.
Abstract: The present invention aims to provide a network projector which has a simple security function via a network. The network projector comprises a power source unit which supplies power to the network projector and a display signal control unit which, when confirming that a connection confirmation signal which is transmitted at a fixed period from a host computer via a network is not inputted for more than a predetermined time, outputs a supply stop signal to the power source unit indicating that the supply of power should be stopped.
Abstract: A frame casing according to the present invention is provided on side surfaces of a display section, and includes: a plurality of divided frames which are L-shaped and disposed along the side surfaces of the display section with adjacent ends thereof along a circumferential direction overlapping one another; and a attaching section which is formed in a middle of a circumferential direction of each of the plurality of divided frames and which attaches the plurality of divided frames to the side surfaces of the display section, total length of the divided frames along the circumferential direction being greater than total length of the side surfaces of the display section along the circumferential direction.
Abstract: In a video display device of the present invention, a main control unit is equipped with a user interface for varying correction values set to a range correction unit and controls a range correction unit by acquiring the corresponding correction values from a storage unit in accordance with correction level information input by the user interface. The storage unit stores range correction values for the video display unit in correspondence with each piece of the correction level information input by the user interface. Thus, it is possible to correct luminance ranges to suit the user's preference without causing a large luminance reduction.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a lamp a power supply for supplying power to lamp, an image processing unit for displaying an image according to any one of a plurality of video signals applied externally, and a control unit for causing the power supply to start supplying power to the lamp when at least one of the plurality of video signals is applied in an initial state, checking whether or not any one of the plurality of video signals is applied within a predetermined period of time from the time when the applied video signal is stopped, making the power supply continue to supply power to the lamp if at least one of the plurality of video signals is applied, and making the power supply stop supplying power to the lamp if any one of the plurality of video signals has not been applied.
Abstract: A projector includes a light source, a pump which supplies a compressed gas to cool the light source, and an ejector member having a hole, in which, a tube connects the pump to the ejector member, the compressed gas is discharged from the hole, and a diameter of the hole is in a range from 0.2 mm to 0.4 mm.
Abstract: A cooling apparatus for a liquid crystal image display having a liquid crystal unit includes an incident-side polarizing plate, a liquid crystal panel and an exit-side polarizing plate. The incident-side polarizing plate, the liquid crystal panel and the exit-side polarizing plate are disposed side by side with a gap therebetween to have the same in-plane direction. A first cooling unit feeds an air stream in an orientation of the in-plane direction, and a second air cooling unit feeds an air stream in the in-plane direction in a different orientation from the air stream by the first air cooling unit. The first air cooling unit and the second air cooling unit are set such that the first and second air stream collide with each other between the incident-side polarizing plate and the liquid crystal panel and/or between the liquid crystal panel and the exit-side polarizing plate.
Abstract: A silent cooling apparatus for effectively reducing the operating temperature of an electronic device includes a plurality of components which include surfaces opposite to each other with a spacing therebetween and have a heat generating spot on at least any of the surfaces opposite to each other, in a small and low-cost configuration. The apparatus for cooling a heat generating spot of an electronic device includes a cooling apparatus for forcedly air-cooling a heat generating spot of an electronic device which includes a plurality of components which are disposed side by side to have the same in-plane direction, and include heat generating spots within their surfaces. The cooling apparatus includes a first air cooling unit for feeding an air stream to the heat generating spot in an orientation of the in-plane direction, and a second air cooling unit for feeding an air stream to the heat generating spot in the in-plane direction in a different orientation from the air stream by the first air cooling unit.
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to realize a transmission distortion correction system for allowing an image signal including a plurality of picture signals to be corrected, and to realize an image signal transmitter and an image display unit.
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device having a liquid crystal panel includes a common voltage generating section (5) that supplies a common voltage to a common electrode connected in common to a plurality of liquid crystal cells that comprise said liquid crystal panel (13); a liquid crystal driving section (12) that supplies a voltage corresponding to an input image signal to said plurality of liquid crystal cells so as to display an image based on said input image signal on said liquid crystal panel (13); and a controlling section (10) that causes said common voltage generating section (15) to change a value of the common voltage generated thereby to correspond to a signal that represents an amount of light that enters said liquid crystal panel.
