Abstract: The present invention provides a notification system (10) including: a driving feature information acquisition unit (11) that acquires driving feature information that indicates at least one of a driving level and a driving tendency; a state estimation unit (12) that estimates a state of a driver, based on at least one of a piece of vital information, an appearance image, and a piece of speech data of the driver; a detection unit (13) that determines an event to be detected associated with the acquired driving feature information and the estimated state, and executes processing of detecting the determined event; and a notification unit (14) that determines a content to be notified to the driver at a time of detecting the event, based on the notification information, and notifies the determined content.
Abstract: A method for augmenting video sequences in a video reasoning system is presented. The method includes randomly subsampling a sequence of video frames captured from one or more video cameras, randomly reversing the subsampled sequence of video frames to define a plurality of sub-sequences of randomly reversed video frames, training, in a training mode, a video reasoning model with temporally augmented input, including the plurality of sub-sequences of randomly reversed video frames, to make predictions over temporally augmented target classes, updating parameters of the video reasoning model by a machine leaning algorithm, and deploying, in an inference mode, the video reasoning model in the video reasoning system to make a final prediction related to a human action in the sequence of video frames.

Abstract: In optical fiber sensors, sensor signals obtained differ according to the circumstances of installation, in locations being observed, of optical fibers serving as sensors, and it is difficult to perform accurate measurements; therefore, a sensor signal processing apparatus according to the present invention includes variation calculation means for receiving a sensor signal based on scattered light of a light pulse propagating through an optical fiber, and calculating a variation of the sensor signal from a reference value; and normalization processing means for normalizing the variation within a predetermined time, and calculating a normalized variation.

Abstract: The present invention improves an accuracy to discern a fake finger created by attaching a transparent thin film to the surface of a finger. The present invention has: a mounting surface that has a mounting area to mount an authentication target that is an object of fingerprint authentication; a transparent plate that is provided on mounting surface and defines a range of an image used for determining the authenticity of the authentication target; a light source that allows light to directly enter the authentication target mounted on the mounting area, not by way of the transparent plate; and an imaging device that images the authentication target mounted on the mounting area, by way of a the transparent plate, wherein a light emitting surface for emitting light of the light source to outside is disposed on the same plane as the mounting surface.

Abstract: Beamforming methods and systems include determining a tradeoff curve between scanning beamwidth and transmission beamwidth based on a channel distribution for a base station. A set of scanning beams is selected based on the tradeoff curve. Devices around the base station are scanned for using the set of scanning beams. A set of transmission beams is selected for communications with the devices based on information received during the scanning. The set of transmission beams are used for transmission with a beamforming transmitter.

Abstract: An apparatus publishes the first verification key generated in a first secure area outside the apparatus, acquires a second verification key that is generated in a second secure area of a data requesting apparatus and published by the data requesting apparatus, signs, in the first secure area, in response to a data delivery request, delivery target data using the first signature key, transmits transmission data obtained through the signing to the data requesting apparatus, receives certification data from the data requesting apparatus, verifies a signature of the certification data using the second verification key, and transmits, when the signature of the certification data is successfully verified using the second verification key, the certification data to the data providing apparatus.
Abstract: Systems and methods for data fusion and analysis of vehicle sensor data, including receiving a multiple modality input data stream from a plurality of different types of vehicle sensors, determining latent features by extracting modality-specific features from the input data stream, and aligning a distribution of the latent features of different modalities by feature-level data fusion. Classification probabilities can be determined for the latent features using a fused modality scene classifier. A tree-organized neural network can be trained to determine path probabilities and issue driving pattern judgments, with the tree-organized neural network including a soft tree model and a hard decision leaf. One or more driving pattern judgments can be issued based on a probability of possible driving patterns derived from the modality-specific features.
Abstract: An imaging system includes: a first camera with a first focal length; a second camera with a second focal length; a first mirror disposed to correspond to both the first camera and the second camera; and a first adjustment unit that adjusts an optical positional relation between the first camera or the second camera and the first mirror, in accordance with which of the first camera and the second camera is used to image a target. According to such an imaging system, it is possible to properly image targets located at differing distances.
