Patents Assigned to Neuroptics, Inc.
  • Patent number: 6637881
Abstract: An eyecup shield for use during ocular examinations. The eyecup shield is formed from a cylindrical member having a proximal end with an opening, a distal end with an opening, and a wall. The wall is substantially rigid and has one or more access ports which are sized to receive a finger.

  • Patent number: 6260968
Abstract: A pupilometer having a pupil irregularity or non-uniformity detection capability. The pupilometer may comprise an imaging sensor for generating signals representative of a pupil of an eye, a data processor; and a program executable by the data processor for enabling the data processor to process signals received from the imaging sensor and to thereby identify one or more regions of non-uniformity within an image of a perimeter of the pupil. The pupilometer may incorporate several innovative calibration and thresholding routines and may provide the basis for an innovative medical diagnostics system, when coupled to a network containing a suitable medical database and data processing hardware.

  • Patent number: 5953097
Abstract: A contact lens for use with pupil monitoring systems. A contact lens has a first surface that conforms to a cornea and sclera of patient's eye, and a second surface that has a tubular extension defining a viewing port formed thereon. A distal region of the tubular extension forms an outwardly protruding lip which functions to securely engage the eyelid of a patient during the monitoring process and facilitates manipulation of the scleral contact lens while it is being inserted in or removed from a patient's eye. The lens may conform solely to the cornea of a patient's eye, and the viewing port may have a wide angle lens, polarizing element or other optical filtering element provided therein.
