Abstract: A valve assembly comprising a valve stem, an annular bonnet configured to receive the valve stem, a valve disk coupled to one end of the valve stem, a seal, and an insert. The seal is disposed adjacent the valve disk and has a top surface and a bottom surface. The top surface includes a first pair of sealing ridges extending upwardly therefrom and the bottom surface includes a second pair of sealing ridges extending downwardly therefrom. The insert includes a recess configured to receive the seal that performs a sealing function and a biasing function. The valve assembly can easily be configured to open in either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction without resort to adapters or other additional pieces by rotating the bonnet/valve stem sub-assembly 90° relative to the insert.
Abstract: A stud welding gun includes a closed conductivity path indicating a stud properly positioned for welding. Another aspect includes a conductivity detection circuit closed when a stud is present. A further aspect provides a method to operate a stud welding gun including closing a conductivity path to permit a welding operation. A still further aspect provides a method to detect a stud presence by passing a conductivity current from a conductivity detection circuit through a conductivity path closed by a stud.

Abstract: A pin-and-bushing clip connects a panel member to a body while providing a water-tight seal between the panel member and the body and between a pin head and a bushing flange. Abstract: A re-keyable lock and method. The lock has locked and unlocked positions and includes a housing and a cylinder rotatably supported in the housing. The lock includes a plurality of wafer tumblers resiliently supported in corresponding channels formed in the cylinder. Each wafer tumbler includes a rider element selectively engaged with a base element in first and second engagement positions, wherein the first engagement position corresponds to a first key and the second engagement position corresponds to a second key. The lock also includes a re-keying mechanism such as a re-keying tool which is inserted in a re-keying slot when the lock is in the unlocked position to disengage the rider element from the corresponding base element in the first engagement position and to re-engage the rider element to the base element in the second engagement position.
Abstract: A packaging system for a door knob assembly is disclosed which includes a clear or translucent extruded tubular member for encasing a door knob, lever, deadbolt or other door hardware or accessory. A pair of end caps are disposed at opposite ends of the tubular member for defining a packaging volume therein. The particular door hardware contained within the packaging system may be supported on an insert which further provides a storage volume within the packaging system for additional components of the lockset. Retaining flanges extend from the end caps for releasably securing the packaged door hardware within the packaging system.

The feed arrangement (7) comprises a transfer arrangement (8) with a transfer region (15) in which a component (12) can be positioned. In the transfer region (15), a feed duct (11) having a head guiding duct (13) and a shank guiding duct (14) passes into a conveying duct (16). The transfer arrangement (8) comprises at least one catch unit (17). The catch unit (17) comprises at least one catch element (18). The catch element (18) is arranged opposite the head guiding duct (13) and penetrates at least partially therein. It can be deflected from the head guiding duct (13) against a spring force.

Abstract: An apparatus comprises a die assembly including a plurality of dies held on a movable table, and a driving device for moving the die assembly. The driving device is operable to move the die assembly in a direction transverse to the axis of a punch for allowing one of the dies to be placed in a position located axially below the punch. The driving device is also operable to move the die assembly in the axial direction of the punch between raised and lowered positions. In the raised position, the die assembly can be moved by the driving device to place a selected die below the punch. In the lowered position, the selected die can be fixed in a die mounting hole located below the punch. In this position, the punch is operable to join workpieces by riveting, for example.
Abstract: In order to detect setting defects of a self-piercing rivet in a self-piercing rivet setting machine, on a graph having X-Y coordinates representing a rivet driven stroke and a rivet driving load, a normal upper limit curve 37 defining the upper limit of a normal setting range and a normal lower limit curve 38 defining the lower limit of the normal setting range are plotted to detect a conventionally detectable setting defects. Further, a defect upper limit curve 39 and a defect lower limit curve 41 which are obtained from an additional setting defect different from the conventionally detectable setting defects are plotted between the normal upper limit curve and the normal lower limit curve, so that the additional setting defect is detected when a plotted curve 45 of actual-measurement data of a rivet under a rivet driving operation lies between the defect upper and lower limit curves.
Abstract: A re-keyable lock cylinder includes a plug body and a carrier sub-assembly disposed adjacent the plug body. The plug assembly includes a plurality of planar wafers and the carrier sub assembly includes a plurality of racks for engaging the wafers in a face-to-face teeth arrangement. The racks disengage from the wafers to separate the teeth in response to movement of the carrier such that the lock cylinder is in a re-keyable condition when the racks are disengaged from the wafers.

Abstract: A door handle spring assembly for biasing a catch releasably coupling a door handle to a sleeve. The spring assembly includes a first arm engaged with the catch, a second arm extending outwardly from the sleeve, and a loop portion formed between the first and second arms. The first arm and the loop portion are retained within the sleeve. The spring assembly further functions to exert a radial biasing force between the handle and the sleeve to minimize play therebetween.
