Abstract: A sole structure includes an outsole having a forefoot region, a heel region, and a midfoot region between the heel region and the forefoot region. The outsole extends along the forefoot region, the midfoot region, and the heel region, and the outsole includes a first zone having a plurality of first chevron traction elements, a second zone having a plurality of second chevron traction elements, and a third zone having a plurality of third chevron traction elements. The first chevron traction elements are oriented along a first substantially common orientation vector. The second chevron traction elements are oriented along a second substantially common orientation vector. The third chevron traction elements are oriented along a third substantially common orientation vector.
Abstract: A sports ball having a cover with an outer substrate surface is provided. The cover includes a plurality of raised lenticular features each having a terminus and a plurality of land areas. The raised lenticular features are formed from dimensional ink and disposed upon and extend from the outer substrate surface, such that each terminus is spaced apart from the outer substrate surface by a height greater than about 0.05 millimeters. The cover, including raised lenticular features and the land areas, defines a plurality of directionally-based designs within the physical surface geometry thereof, such that a first design is visible when the sports ball is viewed from a first viewing angle, a second design is visible when the sports ball is viewed from a second viewing angle, and a third design is visible when the sports ball is viewed from a third viewing angle.
Abstract: A braiding machine in which spools wound with tensile elements are mounted on carriages that are disposed on a rotor track around the perimeter of the braiding machine. The perimeter of the braiding machine is non-circular, such that the area enclosed by the perimeter of the non-circular braiding machine is substantially less than the area enclosed by a circular braiding machine having a perimeter of the same length as the perimeter of the non-circular braiding machine.
Abstract: Apparel is disclosed that can be worn to assist an interactive game in tracking the movement of the wearer. The apparel may include one or more tracking marks formed of designs, patterns, or reflective materials that can be easily tracked by an interactive game. By providing tracking marks on apparel, rather than using a special-purpose device that must be separately worn, a player may enjoy a more natural feel when playing the interactive game. A user can wear the apparel for everyday purposes, and then simply begin playing the game wearing the apparel without having to put on any additional equipment. The apparel may use reflective materials, and the interactive game can employ a camera and a light source configuration where the camera is located within the observation angle of a player employing retroreflective materials reflecting light from the light source.

Abstract: An article of footwear may include an upper and a sole structure secured to the upper, the sole structure including a midsole with an outsole secured thereto, wherein a one or more recesses or cavities extend substantially into the midsole and are exposed through one or more apertures in the outsole. These recesses or cavities provide unique cushioning and support properties, particularly during “banking” (e.g., leaning to one side or pushing off to the side from the medial or lateral side of the foot). The recesses or cavities provide the structural benefits of dome or arch shapes that are formed in the mid-sole and open to the underside.
Abstract: An article of footwear including an adaptive support system includes a plurality of support members. Each support member includes an outer chamber and an inner chamber, the inner chamber being filled with a magnetorheological fluid. An electromagnet is disposed adjacent to the inner chamber and can be used to vary the viscosity of the magnetorheological fluid.

Abstract: An article of footwear including a sole structure attached to an upper defining an internal void configured to receive a foot of a wearer is described. The sole structure includes a sole body portion having a central sensory node element located in an aperture in the sole body portion. The central sensory node element has a bottom surface configured to contact the ground and move vertically within the aperture. The movement of the central sensory node element pushes a top surface of the sensory node element attached to a portion of the upper against the foot of the wearer. The central sensory node element is arranged approximately centrally between lateral and medial sides and between the toe and heel ends of the sole structure. The central sensory node element acts as a home button to provide sensory feedback about movement and direction of forces to the foot of the wearer.
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods include a three-dimensional (3D) scanning element, an electronic data storage configured to store a database including fields for 3D scan data and demographic information, a processor, and a user interface. In an example, the processor obtains 3D scan data of a body part of a subject from the 3D scanning element, analyzes the 3D scan data for incomplete regions, generate a composite 3D image of 3D scan data from the database based on similarities of demographic information, and overlays composite 3D image regions corresponding to incomplete regions on the 3D scan data.
Abstract: An article of footwear with a knitted component including an upper and an integral knit ankle cuff is provided. The upper and the ankle cuff are formed as a one-piece knit element. The knit element forms a portion of an exterior surface of the upper and an opposite interior surface of the upper, with the interior surface forming a void for receiving a foot. The ankle cuff is formed of unitary knit construction with the upper as a one-piece knit element and extends above a throat area of the upper. The ankle cuff includes malleolus zones on medial and lateral sides to correspond with the ankle bones of a wearer. The knit component further incorporates features to assist with providing entry for a foot of a wear, providing comfort to a wearer, and to assist with orientation of the upper of the article of footwear when being worn.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing an article comprises etching an etched feature on a surface of a first polymeric sheet, and forming a fluid-filled bladder element from the first polymeric sheet, with the fluid-filled bladder element having a sealable internal cavity that retains fluid. The method includes assembling the bladder element in the article so that a first portion of the bladder element having the etched feature is exposed to view, and a second portion of the bladder element is blocked from view by the article. An article includes the bladder element with the etched feature.
Abstract: A material that includes at least one layer made of an auxetic structure and articles of footwear having soles comprising the materials. When the material is under tension, it expands in both the direction under tension and in the direction orthogonal to the direction under tension. The articles of footwear have soles that have at least one layer made of a material that has a pattern of apertures to provide the auxetic structure. The apertures are surrounded by sole portions that can rotate or pivot to change the size of the apertures. An outer covering can be mated with an outsole structure formed by the auxetic structure. The outer covering includes features that mate with the apertures in the outsole structure. The outer covering is elastic and can stretch to accommodate expansion of the auxetic structure.
