    Abstract: A multi-layered blow-molded bottle comprising at least two layers of a polyolefin resin (A), at least two layers of an adhesive resin (B) prepared by melt-reacting an olefin polymer (b.sub.1) with a rubber (b.sub.2) and an unsaturated carboxylic acid or a derivative thereof (b.sub.3) in the presence of an organic peroxide to obtain a product and adding a rubber (b.sub.4) to the product to melt-mix them with each other, and at least one layer of a barrier resin (C) selected from among polyamide, polycarbonate, polyester, polyvinylidene chloride and saponified ethylene-vinyl acetate polymer resins, which are laminated in the order of A/B/C/B/A.

    Abstract: A method for producing alkylstyrene which is characterized in that 1,2-di(substituted phenyl)ethane is brought into contact with an acid catalyst at 200.degree. C. to 650.degree. C. in the presence of an inert gas to crack it into alkylstyrene and alkylbenzene. The method of the invention has advantages in that the operation of reaction and separation of reaction mixture are quite easy, the lowering of catalytic activity is small, and unreacted starting material can be reused.

    Abstract: An electrical insulating oil composition having good low temperature characteristics which comprises at least 4 members selected from the group consisting of (a) m-ethylbiphenyl, (b) p-ethylbiphenyl, (c) o-benzyltoluene, (d) m-benzyltoluene, (e) p-benzyltoluene, (f) 1,1-diphenylethane, and (g) 1,1-diphenylethylene; and is characterized in that the proportion of solid phase at a temperature of -40.degree. C. of the electrical insulating oil composition is not more than 45% by weight and the proportion of the total quantity of solid phase is calculated according to the following general equation of solid-liquid equilibrium: ##EQU1## wherein X.sub.i is the equilibrium mole fraction of a component i in the liquid phase of the composition, .DELTA.H.sub.i.sup.f is the heat of fusion (cal.mol.sup.-1), T.sub.i.sup.f is the melting point (K), t is the temperature (K), and R is the gas constant (cal.mol.sup.-1.K.sup.-1).

    Abstract: A process for selectively hydroformylating a diolefin, which comprises reacting a (1-arylethyl)vinylbenzene with carbon monoxide and hydrogen under the conditions of 40.degree. to 200.degree. C. in reaction temperature and 5 kg/cm.sup.2 or above in reaction pressure in the presence of a transition metal carbonylation catalyst to thereby selectively hydroformylating only the vinyl group and produce .alpha.-((1-arylethenyl)phenyl)propionaldehyde. The starting material to be hydroformylated may be a mixture of the (1-arylethenyl)vinylbenzene with a 1,1-di(substituted aryl)ethylene not substituted by a vinyl group.

The method comprises the steps of: reacting (3-vinylphenyl)phenylmethane with carbon monoxide and hydrogen, water or lower alcohol in the presence of a transition metal carbonylation catalyst to form .alpha.-(3-benzylphenyl)propionic acid derivative, and when the thus obtained compound is an aldehyde, oxidizing methylene group and formyl group of the compound simultaneously or sequentially, or when the obtained compound is an acid or its ester, oxidizing the methylene group of the compound, and if need be, it is followed by hydrolysis.

    Abstract: A method for producing p-alkylstyrene which is characterized in that side reaction scarcely occurs, catalyst and unreacted material are easily recovered for the reuse, the p-position selectivity is excellent and yield of aimed product is high. In the method, monoalkylbenzene having an alkyl group with 3 or more carbon atoms is reacted with acetaldehyde in the presence of hydrogen fluoride catalyst under the conditions of a temperature of 0.degree. C. or lower, a molar ratio of 2 to 100 in "alkylbenzene/acetaldehyde", the other molar ratio of 1.7 to 300 in "hydrogen fluoride/acetaldehyde", the proportion of hydrogen fluoride to the sum of hydrogen fluoride and water in the reaction system of 65% by weight or higher, and the concentration of acetaldehyde in the reaction system of 1.0% by weight or lower to obtain 1,1-bis(p-alkylphenyl)ethane, and then subjecting it to catalytic cracking at a temperature in the range of 200.degree. to 650.degree. C. in the presence of an acid catalyst.

The ketroprofen is a useful medicine for the relief of pain and inflammation.
