    Abstract: A thermoplastic resin composition for extrusion molding superior in the balance of mechanical properties and moldability is obtained by using a partially crosslinked product obtained by dynamically heat-treating:(A) 100-1 wt % of an .alpha.-olefin (co)polymer of C.sub.2 to C.sub.8 ;(B) 0-99 wt % of a rubbery substance;0.01-7 parts by weight, based on 100 parts by weight of the components (A)+(B), of at least one crosslinking agent selected from:(C) a dihydroaromatic series compound or a polymer thereof,(D) an ether series compound,(E) a tetrahydroaromatic series compound, and(F) a cyclopentane series compound; and(G) 0.01-7 parts by weight of a polyfunctional monomer based on 100 parts by weight of the components (A)+(B).

    Abstract: A method for producing .alpha.-(p-isobutylphenyl)-propionic acid with a high selectivity and high purity. The method is characterized in that .alpha.-(p-isobutylphenyl)propionaldehyde is oxidized at temperatures not higher than -12.degree. C. in the presence of an acid using a hypohalogenite. The acid is an inorganic acid such as sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid and hydrochloric acid and the hypohalogenite may be sodium salts, potassium salts or calcium salts of hypochlorous acid or hypobromous acid.

A fiber reinforced plastic rod is formed by helically applying the rib forming member to the surface of the substrate forming member and together curing the two members into an integral body.     Abstract: A process for treating a by-product oil is disclosed, which comprises treating a raw material containing a heavy oil formed as a by-product in the step of producing alkylbenzene or the like by alkylation of benzene or the like, with a catalyst of crystalline synthetic zeolite having a SiO.sub.2 /Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 (molar ratio) of 20 or more and inlets of main pores (main cavity openings) of ten-membered oxygen rings in a liquid phase at a temperature of 320.degree. C. or below, wherein said raw material contains up to 2 wt % of methylnaphthalene. This process makes it possible to prevent reduction in the catalytic treatment efficiency.
