    Abstract: A headup display apparatus for vehicles is capable of suppressing deterioration of luminance of virtual images, while avoiding a cost increase. This headup display apparatus includes: a light emitting unit having at least a light emitting body that emits output light; a liquid crystal display which emits display light; a concave mirror which reflects the display light; and a housing which houses the light emitting unit, the liquid crystal display, and the concave mirror. The output light that has been emitted from the light emitting body, and the display light that has been reflected by the concave mirror are radiated to a windshield through a translucent cover, and a virtual image obtained by means of the radiation is visually recognized by a driver. The light emitting unit is disposed inside of the housing such that the light emitting unit faces the windshield with the translucent cover therebetween.
