  • Patent number: 5144569
Abstract: A method for filtering digital input signals (e) makes use of all-pass filters of a first-class having the transfer function S1 and all-pass filters of a second-class having the transfer function S2, as well as all-pass filters of higher order, derived therefrom, having the transfer functions S1' and S1" or S2' and S2". The all-pass filters (10 to 36) are arranged in several stages in such a manner that the number of all-pass filters of higher order for a predetermined filter function is reduced. The output signals (A1 to A8) of the all-pass filters of the lowest order (22 to 36) are combined in a logical operation stage to filter output signals (d1,d8), the respective filter characteristic of which is determined by the logical operation. By the method of this invention, the steps necessary for the filtering can be carried out faster than in the prior art.

  • Patent number: 5122727
Abstract: An electric power supply system with at least two mains (10, 12, 14) is indicated, whose outputs (16, 18, 20) are switched in parallel and who together supply a load (22). The output power of the respective mains (10, 12, 14) is governed by its temperature. In a special execution the output power of the respective mains (10, 12, 14, is regulated by the difference of its temperature and the mean temperature of all mains. This results in the fact that the mean time between two failures of the electric power supply system is increased by simple means.

  • Patent number: 5105440
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for adaptive equalization of distorted pulse signals with different pulse train speeds, particularly for bipolar signals. The edge time deviations of a signal derived from the pulses output from a variable equalization network are determined relative to a reference signal, and the results are used to selectively enable or disable individual circuit elements of the network in order to minimize the deviations. The circuit elements are controlled by a clocked binary counter, the counting direction of which is changed depending on the determined edge deviation change. The degree of equalization thusly achieved may be predetermined by presetting the count reading of the counter.

  • Patent number: 5033887
Abstract: Described is a process for producing information relative to the type of a printer head (18) present in a printer, which head contains at least one printer element (86, 88, 90). The servo component of the printing element (86, 88, 90) has an electrical resistance, which is determined via an electrical evaulation circuit. This resistance is assigned to one of several resistance ranges representing various types of printing head. Depending upon this completed assignment, the evaluation circuit produces a type signal (40a, 40b, 40c) as information. The type signal (40a, 40b, 40c) is made available to a subsequent control, whic can then supply the various types of printing heads (17, 18) with specifically suitable control signals. The invention can be used with practically all types of printing heads, whose printing elements are actuated by electrical or electromechanical servo components and therefore have an electrical resistance.

  • Patent number: 4939443
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for the generation of voltage pulses for controlling the switching operation in switching power supplies. A voltage increase of a pulse generator is respectively started when reaching a first, lower threshold (A). Resetting of the voltage increase is carried out in free-running mode, when the voltage increase reaches a second (D) or a third (C) threshold lying between the first (A) and the second (D) one. In sync mode, the pulse edges occurring in the synchronization signal (V.sub.sync) effect resetting of the voltage increase. The advantages of the invention lie in the fact that the switching current, occurring at the change form free-running mode to sync mode due to the frequency difference, is minimized and that the generator operates reliably.

  • Patent number: 4935642
Abstract: The invention concerns the distribution of electric power to several functional units (10, 11, 12) with variable power consumption. A preset limit value (Pmax) of the total power supply which is lower than the sum of the highest possible individual powers (P10, P11, P12) is maintained. By evaluating the total power consumption (I) or the operating voltage (U) of all functional units (10, 11, 12), an increase in the supply current or a drop in operating voltage (U) is used to reduce the supply current (I3) of functional units(12) of a lower importance is favor of the supply current of functional units (11) of a higher importance. This invention is used especially in electrical telephone subscriber's stations that are supplied over the subscriber's line.

  • Patent number: 4922528
Abstract: A circuit is described for recognition of two-tone compound signals of two frequency ranges (F1 to F4, F5 to F8) in telephone installations with a limited transmission band width. Band pass filters (11, 12) whose output signals are added up and weighted individually are provided in a number corresponding to the number of possible single tones. The weighted output signals are each compared with the output signal sum of one of two frequency ranges (F1 to F4, F5 to F8 ) in order to signal a valid single tone. To increase the certainty of speech, another summand (Su, So) that is derived from a summation of the output signals of at least two other band pass filters (13) whose mid-band frequencies (F9 to F11) are outside the two frequency ranges (F1 to F4, F5 to F8) is also sent to the summation circuit.

  • Patent number: 4919412
Abstract: A control system for the pressing force created on the draw-off roller system (24) in a single-feed mechanism for sheet material (16) is described. This pressing force has an optimum value when the time required for the respective draw-off operation is the minimum amount. For a corresponding regulation, a time measurement is performed with successive draw-off operations. The times thus determined are evaluated, and if they are found to be the same, the value of the pressing force reached following regulation of a drive that produces the pressing force is retained.

  • Patent number: 4878009
Abstract: A voltage source with preset values of the source voltage and the internal resistance is simulated by a computing circuit (25, 26; 35, 36; 47) which calculates a reference parameter (S.sub.UO ; S.sub.IO) for a current or voltage regulator (20; 30; 40) that forms the output of the voltage source. The reference parameter (S.sub.UO ; S.sub.IO) corresponds to the output current (I.sub.O) or the output voltage (U.sub.O) and is obtained from a measured parameter (M.sub.UO ; M.sub.IO) and the input parameters (S.sub.U ; S.sub.R) which correspond to the values to be set. The measured parameter (M.sub.UO ; M.sub.IO) is derived from the output voltage (U.sub.O) or the output current (I.sub.O). When using this simulation circuit, separate high load resistors and mechanical switching contacts are unnecessary and the input parameters (S.sub.U ; S.sub.R) can be set with analog switches.
