  • Patent number: 9473284
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer program for configuring channel sensing parameters of an apparatus are disclosed in this document. The method comprises providing a mapping between reception sensitivity thresholds for determining whether a radio channel is busy or available for channel access and time values affecting a back-off time representing a time interval the apparatus refrains from channel access upon determining that the radio channel is busy, wherein a first time value is mapped to a first reception sensitivity threshold and a second time value is mapped to a second reception sensitivity threshold such that when the first reception sensitivity threshold provides a higher probability for the apparatus to determine that the channel is busy than the second reception sensitivity threshold, the first time value provides the apparatus with a lower back-off time than the second time value; and selecting a combination of a reception sensitivity threshold and a time value mapped to each other.

  • Patent number: 9454735
Abstract: A system and method for integrating data with a contact is disclosed. The technology initially receives a first data element from a contact and provides a representation of the first data element. The representation of the first data element is then coupled with the contact on a contact list. A second data element is then received from the contact and a representation of the second data element received is also provided. The representation of the second data element is then coupled with the contact on the contact list, such that the representation of the first data element and the representation of the second data element are concurrently coupled with the contact on the contact list.

  • Patent number: 9438567
Abstract: Data transfer is effected by a remote packet-communicating device to facilitate the transfer of data from a data source to another device that is local to the remote device. According to an example embodiment of the present invention, a host server provides access to a user's data source (e.g., at a registered user's PC) in response to a request from a remote packet-communicating device. The remote device directs the host server to facilitate the transfer of data from the data source to another device that is local to the remote device. In one implementation, a remote device and a media playback device are in communication on a local area network (LAN), and the remote device controls the communication of data from the data source to the media playback device, by interacting with a host server via a packet-communicating network and a gateway at the LAN.

  • Patent number: 9430834
Abstract: In a method, a first image of a subject is taken from a first viewpoint. The first image of the subject is composed of a first plurality of pixels. A second image of the subject is taken from a second viewpoint. The second image of the subject is composed of a second plurality of pixels. Pixels in the first plurality of pixels in the first image correspond to pixels in the second plurality of pixels in the second image. Corresponding pixels lie on first epipolar lines in the first image and on second epipolar lines in the second image. The first and second images are rectified to make the first and second epipolar lines parallel to one another and to place corresponding pixels in the first and second images on one of a plurality of pairs of common scanlines. For at least one pair of common scanlines, a corresponding pixel is found in the second image for each pixel in the first image such that a visual perception matching cost (VPMC) is minimized.
