Abstract: The present invention provides a polyolefin polymer having a bimodal composition with a reduced higher molecular weight component prepared using a self-supported phosphinimine single site catalyst. The catalyst is prepared by precipitating an emulsion of the activated catalyst from a perfluoroalkane continuous phase resulting in spherical catalyst particles having a diameter typically from 5 to 200 ?m.
Abstract: A measurement system for use in measuring parameters of a patterned sample is presented. The system comprises: a broadband light source; an optical system configured as an interferometric system; a detection unit; and a control unit. The interferometric system defines illumination and detection channels having a sample arm and a reference arm comprising a reference reflector, and is configured for inducing an optical path difference between the sample and reference arms; the detection unit comprises a configured and operable for detecting a combined light beam formed by a light beam reflected from said reflector and a light beam propagating from a sample's support, and generating measured data indicative of spectral interference pattern formed by at least two spectral interference signatures. The control unit is configured and operable for receiving the measured data and applying a model-based processing to the spectral interference pattern for determining one or more parameters of the pattern in the sample.
Abstract: The oligomerization of ethylene using a chromium catalyst having a heteroatomic ligand may be used to provide oligomerization products that are selective towards hexene and/or octene. However, such processes also typically produce some polymer as an undesirable by product. The present invention is directed towards improvements in the selective oligomerization of ethylene.

Abstract: The invention provides compositions including epinephrine fine particles, including epinephrine nanoparticles or nanocrystals and epinephrine microparticles or microcrystals, and methods for therapeutic use of the compositions for the treatment of conditions responsive to epinephrine such as a cardiac event or an allergic reaction, particularly anaphylaxis. The epinephrine fine particles can be incorporated into orally-disintegrating and fast-disintegrating tablet pharmaceutical formulations and can significantly increase the sublingual bioavailability of epinephrine, and thereby reduce the epinephrine dose required.

Abstract: An optical spectrometer for use in a COOx analyzer includes a spectrometer housing having an optical fiber housing end, a light-receiving input slit positioned adjacent the optical fiber housing end, a light dispersing element mounted to but spaced from the optical fiber housing end and positioned within an optical path along which light travels from the light-receiving input slit. The light dispersing element receives the light transmitted through the input slit and separates the light into a plurality of light beams, a light-array detector capable of receiving the plurality of light beams and converting the plurality of light beams into the electrical signal, an achromatic lens positioned in the optical path to direct the light from the input slit to the light dispersing element and to direct the plurality of light beams reflected from the light dispersing element onto the light-array detector, and a thermal-compensating means for the spectrometer housing.
Abstract: Provided herein is a unidirectional blow down system for a high-pressure tubular reactor with a hyper that minimizes the tube wall metal temperature during a decomposition event wherein the system prevents the reactor walls from reaching a temperature capable of causing the tube metal to austenize. Also provided are methods of designing and methods of operating a unidirectional blowdown system.

Abstract: The disclosure provides an ethylene copolymer having a density of from 0.912 g/cm3 to 0.925 g/cm3, a melt flow ratio (I21/I2) of from 20 to 30, and a normal comonomer distribution profile in a GPC-FTIR analysis, wherein the normal comonomer distribution profile has a slope of from ?3.5 to ?7.5, where the slope is defined as the number of short chain branches per 1000 carbons at a molecular weight of 300,000 minus the number of short chain branches per 1000 carbons at a molecular weight of 30,000. The ethylene copolymers have improved bulk density and when made into film, provide good physical properties.
Abstract: A process to prepare stabilized parts having high resistance to ultraviolet (UV) radiation by the injection blow molding of a composition which contains chromium catalyzed ethylene copolymer, hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS) and a synergistic amount of zinc oxide (ZnO).
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and conditions for manufacturing a polyethylene polymer or copolymer in a liquid/liquid biphasic non-adiabatic reaction, and the compositions and articles made therefrom.

Abstract: A remotely activatable custody control belt is worn by prisoners, inmates, and detainees. The remotely activatable custody control belt deters whomever is wearing the remotely activatable custody control belt from aggressive or hostile actions against law enforcement officers, corrections officers, other prisoners, or bystanders. The remotely activatable custody control belt includes a belt, a belt fastener, a fastener receiver, at least one warning-signal device, a non-lethal electroshock device, a wireless transceiver, and a first microcontroller. The belt is fastened around the prisoner through the belt fastener and the fastener receiver. The at least one warning-signal device alerts the wearer to comply with verbal commands or of an imminent emission from the non-lethal electroshock device. The corrections officer alerts the wearer through a signal from a remote-control device. The signal is received through the wireless transceiver and processed through the first microcontroller.
