Abstract: A closure is provided and comprises a top plate and a sidewall depending therefrom. The interior of the sidewall has a screw thread formation comprising a plurality of thread segments. The thread segments collectively define an engagement surface for engagement with an external thread formation on an associated container. A notional helical top surface with a constant pitch extends along the formation, and at least some, but not all, of the segments include material offset from the notional helical top surface towards the top plate.

Abstract: A tamper-evident screw closure (1) is provided and comprises: a head plate (2); a substantially cylindrical skirt (3) having an internal screw thread (4); and a tamper-evident drop band (11), the band being frangibly connected to the lower edge of the skirt. The band comprises a first portion (12) directed downwardly from the cap skirt and a second portion (14) which extends from the lower end of the first portion and which is folded over inwardly and back in the direction of the head plate for engaging behind a securing ring on a container neck. At least one extension (15) is provided in axial extension of the second portion. The extension is provided with one or more notches (18) and the interior of the skirt is provided with one or more corresponding projections (20) which locate in the notches when the second portion is folded.

Abstract: A dosing device is provided and comprises: a dosing chamber having an inlet through which product can enter from a container; an outlet into which product flows from the chamber and through which product flows out of the device; a siphon member located around the outlet; a vent opening in the chamber; a container-side vent which opens into the container, in which: the siphon member terminates at a level L1 with respect to the outlet; the outlet opens into the chamber at a level L2; such that in use product flows into the chamber through the inlet/s and fills the chamber until L2 is reached and then product is siphoned from the chamber into the outlet by the siphon member, the siphoning continuing until product in the chamber reaches L1, whereupon: air entering the vent opening interrupts the siphoning; and air vents into the container through the container-side vent such that thereafter recharging of the chamber repeats, in which a chicane is provided for preventing leakage of product through the vent opening

Abstract: A flip-top dispensing closure is provided. The closure comprises a base and a lid. The base is attachable to a container neck and includes an integral spout. The lid comprises a fixing ring and a cap. The fixing ring is attachable to the base and the cap is hingedly attached to the ring. The closure is provided with tamper-evident means comprising first and second parts which are initially frangibly connected to each other within the lid, and upon first opening of the cap the first and second parts are separated, one of the parts being retained by the cap and the other of the parts dropping onto the base.

Abstract: A child-resistant closure for a container includes outer and inner nested caps each having a top panel and a side skirt depending generally peripherally therefrom, said outer cap loosely generally encompassing said inner cap to allow relative rotary and axial movement there between. The outer and inner caps have corresponding drive formations which can be brought into driving engagement when the caps are moved axially towards one another to a first axial position. The external surface of the inner cap side skirt includes one or more axial ribs for allowing venting when the outer and inner caps are initially assembled together. The inner cap top panel is provided with a plurality of castellations, and each rib connects to an edge of a respective castellation.

Abstract: A cap for a bottle, which comprises at least a sealing portion and a lateral portion for fastening to the bottle. The sealing portion comprises, along a direction substantially perpendicular to the lateral portion, a first region formed of unfoamed polymeric material, a second region formed of foamed polymeric material, and a third region formed of unfoamed polymeric material, the second region being positioned between the first region and the third region. The disclosure also relates to a process for manufacturing a cap made of foamed polymeric material.

The body has a sidewall including screw thread formations for screwing the closure onto a screw threaded container neck and the plug member is locatable on the neck to seal it. The closure comprises a tamper-evident member at least part of which is movable from a first position to a second position when the closure is unscrewed from the neck for the first time and, in use, when the body is unscrewed the body moves axially with respect to the plug member to cause the tamper-evident member to move from the first to the second position.

Abstract: A security closure 5 for a container neck 40 comprises a body 25 formed from a plastics material and a metal retention member 10 formed integrally with the body 25. The metal retention member 10 remains on the container neck 40 for retaining the body 25 on the container neck 40. The metal retention member 10 makes it impossible or very difficult to remove the security closure 5 from the container neck 40 without breaking/damaging/destroying the container. The security closure 5 and a container having a container neck 40, and a method of forming the security closure 5 are also disclosed.
