Abstract: A bulk container for bottom unloading having a novel deformable bottom feature. The novel bottom feature comprises a plurality of scorelines being formed on the central portion of the bottom with the scorelines serving to weaken the bottom portion so that it deforms into a generally funnel shape from the weight of the product positioned within the container. The product is then removed from the container through an opening in the deformed bottom with the flow from the container being controlled by a slide plate if flow control is desired by the user of the container.

Abstract: An improved carton for packaging a plurality of multiple articles having a chime formed on one end thereof. The improved carton has a series of spacing means or ribs formed on at least one of the panels of the carton with the spacing means serving to abut a portion of the chimes of the multiple articles packaged within the carton. The spacing means serve to protect the exterior portion of the carton from becoming disfigured by the chimes of the multiple articles packaged within making circular indentations on the interior face and coming through to the exterior portion of the carton whenever several cartons are stacked on top of each other. The spacing means utilized serves to separate a major portion of the chimes from coming in contact with the underside of the panel thereby providing a much improved appearance of the advertising matter printed on the exterior of the package which is important to the sale of the package contents.

Abstract: An improved combination shipping and storage container which comprises an inner container having at least one product receiving cell which is positioned within a removable outer shell which has an open top and an open bottom. The outer shell is removable from the inner container by means of a plurality of notches formed in opposite sides of the upper portion of the inner container which permits the outer shell to be lifted upwardly and removed from the inner container so that the outer shell can be reshipped to the original user and reused with a new inner container. After the outer shell is removed from the inner container, the inner container structure may be used to contain the products for storage purposes at a warehouse location.Also disclosed is a new and novel method for packaging a product utilizing the new and novel container here and before described.

Abstract: A pallet box pack is disclosed which includes a pallet base and a top cover with a collapsed tube assembly having inwardly bendable bottom flanges and being received in the pallet base underneath the top cover. The pallet box pack can be converted to a bulk pallet box by erecting the collapsed tube assembly so that it forms a receptacle for bulk material.

Abstract: An improved feeder unit and method for use in a weighing system is disclosed wherein a bulk and a dribble feeder are positioned in close proximity to each other with both feeders being vibratory feeders. Positioned over the vibratory dribble feeder is a movable wiper blade which is utilized for wiping a portion of the bulk objects from the dribble feeder into the bulk feeder with the movable wiper blade allowing a controlled portion of the bulk objects to remain on the dribble feeder. The controlled movement of the wiper is utilized to allow a predetermined amount of the bulk objects being fed by the dribble feeder to pass under the wiper without jamming between the wiper and the dribble feeder thereby providing a much improved feeder unit.

Abstract: An improved transition section for a bag filling device is disclosed for use with a bag filling machine. The device comprises a new and novel transition structure that may be utilized to effectively absorb the energy of the material passing through the filling machine and to effectively control the flow of the material in the transition section so that at least two flow paths are formed within the transition chute throat section with one flow path being utilized for downwardly flow of the material being filled in the bag filling machine and the other flow path being utilized for upwardly flow of dust and air resulting from the filling process. The dual flow paths are formed by a rigid divider member fixedly attached to the control device suspended in the transition chute with the divider member moving in a generally horizontal direction in an arcuate path.
