Patent number: 4034658Abstract: A tray feeder including a corrugated sheet folding apparatus for rapidly feeding a plurality of corrugated sheets stored in a gravity hopper attached to the apparatus and folding the sheets into a tray shape for reception of cans or other goods, the feeding and folding of the sheets being done in a continuous, smooth and rapid flow (as opposed to the intermittent flow of the tray feeders of the prior art). The corrugated sheets are stacked in the hopper in such a manner that the upper portion of the foremost sheet is overhung in relation to the central and lower portion of the same sheet with the overhung stacking of the sheets causing the foremost sheets to separate at the upper portion thereof thereby breaking the vacuum between the upper portions of the sheets.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 1975Date of Patent: July 12, 1977Assignees: Olinkraft, Inc., Anheuser-Busch, IncorporatedInventor: Earle C. Patent number: 4013168Abstract: An improved shipping container is disclosed which may be used with a wooden pallet or the like. The shipping container includes an outer liner which has a plurality of flaps on the bottom thereof. The plurality of flaps are turned inwardly in a predetermined manner over and under a flat sheet which is positioned on the bottom of the container. The flat sheet then forms the bottom for the container with the turned in end flaps serving to retain the flat sheet on the bottom of the container. A portion of the flat sheet is exposed on the outside of the container and may be glued or stapled to the pallet. When formed in a generally octagonal shape, the improved shipping container has greater stacking strength and is able to retain a bulk quantity of various materials within the container without the materials working their way out of the container.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 1975Date of Patent: March 22, 1977Assignee: Olinkraft, Inc.Inventors: Robert A. Patent number: 4012886Abstract: An improved in-feed method for, for example, the final closing stage of a bag filling machine of the type wherein a plurality of open bags with pre-formed gusseted tops are filled with a load of loose material and the gusseted tops reformed in a rapid sequence, and the bags are subsequently sealed closed. In the inventive method one bag pushes off the preceding bag in face-to-face engagement therewith along their front and rear sides, respectively, whereby the following or pushing bag being fed in is constrained on all four sides before it begins its infeeding movement. The four-sided constraint is provided by a multiple-finger pusher in the rear, opposing guides on the sides, and the presence of the preceding bag in front in face-to-face engagement therewith. Such frontal engagement prevents the load in the intermediate, following bag from shifting forwardly under the forward force of the pusher and opening the reformed gusseted bag top.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 1974Date of Patent: March 22, 1977Assignee: Olinkraft, Inc.Inventors: Thomas Charles Harris, Doyle Rayford Hudson

Patent number: 4003514Abstract: A new and novel tray for storing and reheating frozen food. The base portion of the tray is formed in a one-piece construction having spaced apart hollow side walls and double thickness end walls both side and end walls being adhesively secured to the underside of the tray. Corner web-like folds positioned between inner panels of the side and end walls are held in place by securing flaps on the outer panels and are secured to the tray. The folding of the side walls and end walls in combination with the corner web-like folds makes the interior portion of the tray leakproof. A separate one-piece lid may be adhesively secured to the top of the hollow side walls and to the sides of the end walls to enclose the tray and make a completely leakproof package. In the preferred embodiment the tray and lid of the package are formed generally of paperboard and may be coated with desirable coatings. The package may also be formed with foil laminations on one or both sides thereof.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 1976Date of Patent: January 18, 1977Assignee: Olinkraft, Inc.Inventor: Earl J. Graser
