  • Patent number: 12015626
Abstract: A packet-filtering device may receive packet-filtering rules configured to cause the packet-filtering device to identify packets corresponding to network-threat indicators. The packet-filtering device may receive packets and, for each packet, may determine that the packet corresponds to criteria specified by a packet-filtering rule. The criteria may correspond to one or more of the network-threat indicators. The packet-filtering device may apply an operator specified by the packet-filtering rule. The operator may be configured to cause the packet-filtering device to either prevent the packet from continuing toward its destination or allow the packet to continue toward its destination.

  • Patent number: 12015719
Abstract: A hardware unit relies on non-flashable circuitry for improving security on a public or private network. The hardware unit can be added to a network without substantial modifications to the other devices already connected to the network. The hardware unit detects and blocks or drops data packets or frames that contain an instruction of a known file-sharing protocol other than a reading instruction that are not digitally signed by a recognized source. Thus, a cyber attack may be prevented instantaneously by what it attempts to do, typically the creation, insertion, deletion, update, renaming, or writing of files to compromise code or data.

  • Patent number: 12012882
Abstract: An internal combustion engine system includes an internal combustion engine, a main exhaust aftertreatment system with a main catalytic converter, and a light-off catalyst bypass system with a bypass passage and a bypass catalytic converter. An emissions control system includes a controller in signal communication with a first oxygen sensor disposed upstream of the bypass catalytic converter, and a second oxygen sensor disposed downstream. The emissions control system performs a diagnostic of the bypass catalytic converter, by the controller, including (i) monitoring signals from the first and second oxygen sensors for a predetermined time period during an engine cold start condition, (ii) determining a ratio of oxygen content at the second oxygen to the first oxygen sensor based on the signals from the first and second oxygen sensors, and (iii) comparing the determined ratio to a predetermined threshold ratio to determine if the bypass catalytic converter has failed.

  • Patent number: 12015625
Abstract: A cloud security system and method implements cloud activity threat detection using analysis of cloud usage user behavior. In particular, the cloud security system and method implements threat detection for users, cloud service providers, or tenants (enterprises) of the cloud security system who are new or unknown to the cloud security system and therefore lacking sufficient cloud activity data to generate an accurate behavior model for effective threat detection. In accordance with embodiments of the present invention, the cloud security system and method performs user behavior analysis to generate generalized user behavior models for user groups, where each user group includes users with similar cloud usage behavior. The user behavior models of the user groups are assigned to users with sparse cloud activity data. In this manner, the cloud security system and method of the present invention ensures effective threat detection by using accurate and reliable user behavior models.

  • Patent number: 12013965
Abstract: In some implementations, a device may monitor a screenshot function of a user device. The device may receive, via an application, sensitive information associated with an operation of the application. The device may detect a screenshot instruction associated with the screenshot function capturing a screenshot of a graphical user interface of the application that is displaying the sensitive information. The device may control the screenshot function to suspend a capture of the screenshot of the graphical user interface. The device may identify a portion of the graphical user interface that includes the sensitive information. The device may mask portion of the graphical user interface to obfuscate the sensitive information. The device may enable the screenshot function to capture, according to the screenshot instruction, the screenshot with obfuscated sensitive information. The device may unmask the portion to enable the sensitive information to be displayed via the graphical user interface.

  • Patent number: 12013694
Abstract: An operation-security system for an automated vehicle includes an object-detector and a controller. The object-detector includes at least three sensors. Each sensor is one of a camera used to determine an image-location of an object proximate to a host-vehicle, a lidar-unit used to determine a lidar-location of the object proximate to the host-vehicle, and a radar-unit used to determine a radar-location of the object proximate to the host-vehicle. The controller is in communication with the at least three sensors. The controller is configured to determine a composite-location based on a comparison of locations indicated by the at least three sensors. Information from one sensor is ignored when a respective location indicated by the one sensor differs from the composite-location by greater than an error-threshold. If a remote sensor not on the host-vehicle is used, V2V or V2I communications may be used to communicate a location to the host-vehicle.

  • Patent number: 12016047
Abstract: The technology described herein improves communication quality and device efficiency by selecting an access technology for use in a communication session between a user equipment (UE) and a communication network. The access technologies may be selected by a network node (e.g., eNodeB) based on a geographic location of the UE within a service area. In some geographic areas, the 5G leg may perform below a threshold quality measure, while the LTE leg performs well. In these situations, maintaining a communication session with only the LTE leg may yield a better overall performance (e.g., data throughput) than using the combination of a 5G leg and an LTE leg. The first step of the selection process is identifying geographic areas with below threshold 5G performance. Once the geographic subunits are designated as high or low performing, the designations are used to determine whether LTE and 5G should be used in combination.
