Abstract: A dual drive hybrid electric power plant to power an aircraft comprises a propulsion assembly, an internal combustion engine having an output shaft configured to drive the propulsion assembly, and an electric motor configured to drive the propulsion assembly and to be selectively coupled to the output shaft. Abstract: A label is provided with a warning layer coating integrated or applied to a front side of the label. The warning layer coating is not activated by application of heat; rather, the warning layer coating activates upon a directional force (vertical or horizontal puffing) applied to the label after the label was initially adhered to a container, bag, box, and/or object. Upon activation, visible color or a printed warning indicia is visible on a front surface of the label, providing evidence that the label was removed after initial application or providing evidence that the label was attempted to be removed after initial application.

Abstract: A better compromise between encoding complexity and achievable rate distortion ratio, and/or to achieve a better rate distortion ratio is achieved by using multitree sub-divisioning not only in order to subdivide a continuous area, namely the sample array, into leaf regions, but using the intermediate regions also to share coding parameters among the corresponding collocated leaf blocks. By this measure, coding procedures performed in tiles—leaf regions—locally, may be associated with coding parameters individually without having to, however, explicitly transmit the whole coding parameters for each leaf region separately. Rather, similarities may effectively exploited by using the multitree subdivision.

Abstract: This disclosure describes a system and method for generating a subsurface model representing lithological characteristics and attributes of the subsurface of a celestial body or planet. By automatically ingesting data from many sources, a machine learning system can infer information about the characteristics of regions of the subsurface and build a model representing the subsurface rock properties. In some cases, this can provide information about a region using inferred data, where no direct measurements have been taken. Remote sensing data, such as aerial or satellite imagery, gravimetric data, magnetic field data, electromagnetic data, and other information can be readily collected or is already available at scale.

Abstract: A system for delaying or inhibiting data is provided in order to shorten the time required for a reselection process from a first communication protocol to a second communication protocol. Reselection from the first communication protocol to the second communication protocol (e.g., 3G to 4G) requires a period of time without data transfers to allow the reselection to complete. The system delays or inhibits data transfers on the mobile device until the reselection process completes or the mobile device is idle for a predetermined length of time. In an embodiment, the system can buffer outgoing data and then send the data once the reselection has completed. In other embodiments, the system can drop packet sessions or ignore incoming packet pages. In another embodiment, the system can delay or inhibit data based on the priority of the data.
Abstract: One or more intra mode predictors of a current block are determined, where the one or more intra mode predictors are derived based on the neighboring samples of the current block via either a decoder side intra mode derivation (DIMD) or a template-based intra mode derivation (TIMD). Whether a position dependent intra prediction combination (PDPC) is to be applied is determined based on the one or more intra mode predictors. In response to the determining that the PDPC is to be applied, a fusion process is performed on the one or more intra mode predictors to combine the one or more intra mode predictors into a single intra mode predictor. The PDPC is applied based on the single intra mode predictor to generate a modified predictor of the current block. The current block is reconstructed based on the modified predictor generated by the PDPC.

Abstract: A device which illuminates internal tissue and organs of a patient is described. The illumination member includes an array of light-emitting diodes (“LEDs”). The arrangement of the array depends on the configuration of the device and the procedure for which the device is being used. In all cases, the illumination member is used to illuminate relevant organs or structures in the body in order to increase visibility during surgical procedures. The LED array reduces the potential for inadvertent injury to internal structures for procedures located throughout the body. These procedures include those involving the reproductive organs of males and females, gastric and bariatrics, and other structures in the abdomen.

Abstract: Aspects described herein may allow for receiving, by a detection server, a plurality of configuration parameters, wherein each configuration parameter includes a type of a risk and an associated level of the risk, with a corresponding automated remediation action for each configuration parameter. A remediation management framework authenticates the detection server for access to the remediation management framework and initiates a scanning of a system of interest, based on the plurality of configuration parameters, by the detection server, to identify one or more risk findings. The remediation management framework receives the identified one more risk findings; and matches each of the one or more risk findings with the plurality of configuration parameters, which then triggers by the remediation management framework, the corresponding automated remediation action associated with each of the one or more risk findings.

Abstract: A simple multi-piece manual tool intended for use in a home or small kitchen wherein the tool is used to form baking liner material into a baking liner having flat bottom and fluted sidewalls around the perimeter. The general perimeter of the formed article may be traditional circular as for cupcakes or alternatively a rectangle or some other geometric or non-geometric shape. This baking liner material may be pre-coated with food release agent or colored or have a custom pre-printed pattern or image. Once the baking liner material is formed, the user puts it into a suitable baking pan to be filled with batter or material to be baked or may alternatively use the formed liner as a single serve container.
Abstract: A gravel pack assembly for a borehole has first and second joints and a foil. The basepipes of the joints connect end-to-end, and both of the basepipes have filters for filtering fluid passage from a borehole into bores of the basepipes. Transport tubes are disposed along the first and second joint, and a jumper tube expands across the connected ends of the basepipes and connects the transport tubes together. The foil encloses an area across the connected ends. The foil has an external surface defining an annulus thereabout with the borehole. The foil has end rings abutting the filters of the joints. At least a section of the foil leaks fluid from the borehole to the area enclosed by the foil, and at least a filter portion of the assembly filters the leaked fluid from the area to at least one of the first and second bores.
