Abstract: Systems and methods of maternal and fetal monitoring include acquiring ultrasound physiological data with an ultrasound transducer. A plurality of electrodes acquire biopotential physiological data from the skin of a patient. A controller receives the ultrasound and biopotential physiological data and calculates fetal heart rate (fHR) values, maternal heart rate (mHR) values, and uterine activity (UA) values from the ultrasound and biopotential physiological data.

Abstract: A computer includes a processor and a memory, and the memory stores instructions executable by the processor to represent a vehicle as a vehicle boundary; represent an object as an object polygon including object vertices and object sides; determine a turning center of a turning radius of the vehicle; select the object vertices projected to intersect the vehicle boundary; for the selected object vertices, determine respective object central angles with respect to the turning center between the respective object vertex and an object intersection with the vehicle boundary; select a smallest central angle from a set including the object central angles; and actuate a component of the vehicle based on the smallest central angle.
Abstract: A copy-on-write union filesystem. A computer system identifies a first filesystem namespace as a mutable layer, and a second filesystem namespace as an immutable layer. The computer system exposes a merged filesystem namespace as a union filesystem that merges the mutable layer and the immutable layer, and that overlays the first filesystem namespace over the second filesystem namespace. The computer system identifies an operation on the merged filesystem namespace that requests to read from a file within the merged filesystem namespace, the file being stored in the second filesystem namespace and not being stored in the first filesystem namespace. The computer system returns a handle referencing a proxy object stored in a system memory. The proxy object includes a mapping to a file object corresponding to the file as stored in the second filesystem namespace.

Abstract: A battery interconnect may include a desired current capacity, integrated fusible links, and be manufacturable using cost effective techniques. In some embodiments, a battery interconnect includes a busbar and relatively thinner links. A busbar carries larger currents and accordingly its cross-sectional areas are relatively larger to reduce ohmic losses. A link carries a much smaller current, and a fusible link is configured to break the circuit when the current is above a threshold, thus requiring a relatively small cross-sectional area. These sometime disparate length scales are addressed using several techniques such as layering a busbar and a foil sheet and pressing portions of a busbar to form the links. The links can be affixed to a plurality of battery cells to connect the cells in parallel or series.

Abstract: A first electronic device, electronically coupled to a second device for supplying a charge to the second electronic device, tracks the voltage requirements of the second device and dynamically adjusts its output voltage upwards or downwards to match such requirements. The second electronic device may provide feedback to the first electronic device through a feedback loop. The feedback may include an indication of the voltage requirements and/or instructions for adjusting the voltage output of the first electronic device. The second device may be, for example, a wearable audio device, while the first device is a case for the wearable audio device.

Abstract: A solid state power amplifier uses a Doherty power amplifier that can be implemented as a monolithic microwave integrated circuit. By adjusting the DC bias of the amplifying stages in each branch of the Doherty amplifier, the output power, linearity, and DC power can be adjusted to provide a specified output, where the specification for the output can include the maintaining of desired DC power and linearity. The Doherty power amplifier can be used in a satellite payload or other application utilizing solid state power amplifiers, while providing the proper amount of RF output power and DC power. A single amplifier can have its bias levels adjusted for different output levels, helping to minimize the number of designs that are required for a given satellite payload, reducing the variety of parts in a satellite payload.

Abstract: A cutter assembly is configured to interchange a cutter bit and has a plurality of retaining features to secure the cutter bit to ensure positive retention and alignment along a rotational axis. A cutter bit is retained within a slot of the retainer component and the retainer component is coupled to a chuck component. The retainer component may be detachably attachable to the chuck component by external threads that are configured to thread into the internal threads of the chuck component. The cutter bit may be retained in the slot by a threaded retainer that extends through one side of the retainer component, through a cutter aperture in the cutter bit, through the slot and into a threaded retainer aperture in the opposing side of the retainer component. The threaded retainer is configured to extend orthogonally to the slot to pull the first side of the retainer component to the second side and pinch or compress against the cutter bit therein.

Abstract: A method includes generating a predictive model mapping batch size to estimated memory utilization based on a plurality of prior batch sizes applied for performing a corresponding plurality of prior data format conversions, and further based on a plurality of prior actual memory utilization occurring in performing the corresponding plurality of prior data format conversions. A next batch size is automatically selected for performance of a subsequent data format conversion based on the predictive model and a current memory availability. A batch of data for performance of the subsequent data format conversion is identified based on the batch of data having the next batch size. The subsequent data format conversion is performed the batch of data, and an actual amount of memory utilized in performing the subsequent data format conversion is determined. The predictive model is updated based on the next batch size and the actual amount of memory utilized.
