Abstract: According to examples, a host device may be instructed to pre-spawn a number of first host processes and a number of second host processes, in which the number of first host processes and the number of second host processes are defined in a first scaling constraint and are each greater than or equal to one. The host device may pre-spawn the second host processes in one or more computing nodes through identification of a host process of the first host processes that is unbound from a client session, termination of the identified host process, and pre-spawning of a second host process that provides a second version of the service based on the termination. The host device may also decrease the number of first host processes and increase the number of second host processes in the one or more computing nodes as defined in a second scaling constraint.

Abstract: An Asset Management System and a method for managing a fleet of assets is provided. The system is capable of determining use states and high-use periods of a fleet of mobile workstations. Use states are determined by sensors resident on mobile workstations, the sensors operable to detect the occurrence of a specified event. The Asset Management System is able to interpret data sent by the sensors and determine a type of use and use state for each mobile workstation based on the data or lack of data sent by the sensors. The Asset Management System is operable to determine periods of high-use across the fleet of mobile workstations. The Asset Management System is also operable to determine a return-on-investment level of each mobile workstation in the fleet and generate a heat map based on those levels.
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to facilitate matching of names for same media content are disclosed. Example methods include analyzing first data associated with first media content and, when a program name/identifier and/or episode name/identifier is not identified in the first data, supplementing the data with second data to form third data and processing the third data with respect to fourth data associated with second media content and calculating a composite match score including a program match score and an episode match score based on processing the third data with respect to the fourth data. When the first media content is determined to match the second media content based on the processing of the third data with respect to the fourth data and a comparison of the composite match score to a threshold is satisfied, a normalized media name is generated for the first media content and the second media content.

Abstract: In some examples, an apparatus for mesh processing includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry receives a first mesh frame with polygons representing a surface of an object, and determining that the first mesh frame is a non manifold type mesh in response to one or more singularity components in the first mesh frame. The processing circuitry converts the first mesh frame to a second mesh frame that is a manifold type mesh. The first mesh frame has first boundary loops that respectively correspond to second boundary loops in the second mesh frame. The processing circuitry detects the second boundary loops in the second mesh frame, and determines the first boundary loops in the first mesh frame according to the second boundary loops in the second mesh frame.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for context aware verification for sensor pipelines. Autonomous vehicles (AVs) may include an extensive number of sensors to provide sufficient situational awareness to perception and control systems of the AV. For those systems to operate reliably, the data coming from the different sensors should be checked for integrity. To this end, the systems and methods described herein may use contextual clues to ensure that the data coming from the different the sensors is reliable.

Abstract: A breathing air laboratory on location gas sample test and data collecting system and method, at a remote breathing air provider's facility, that includes an air compressor, for remotely testing, collecting, and monitoring the quality and purity of the breathing air being produced at the provider's facility, that allows an accredited independent monitoring, testing, and analyzing facility to provide breathing air validation and certification to a cloud-based air quality test and analysis account belonging to the breathing air provider facility at any time. The system includes redundant gas sample air sensors for O2 and CO to ensure quality and accuracy in the breathing air test and data collection, and analysis and a “canary” gas sample test module securely mounted in a laboratory chassis, but manually swappable, to ensure credibility and accuracy of the sensors being used to test gas/air samples.

Abstract: A method including determining neighboring items from among sample items based on a respective embedding distance between a query image of a query item and a respective image of each of the neighboring items. The each of the sample items can comprise the respective image and at least one respective item label. The method further can include determining a respective normalized weight for each of the neighboring items based on the respective embedding distance between the query image and the respective image of the each of the neighboring items. The method also can include determining a query item label of the query item based on a weighted majority vote by the neighboring items via the respective normalized weight for the each of the neighboring items. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Abstract: This invention relates to a method and apparatus for power factor adjustment in a waveguide circuit or a transmission line circuit. In this invention, it is shown that, in a waveguide circuit or a transmission line circuit, the power supplied by the source and the impedance can be adjusted by controlling the amount of the phase change of the signal when it propagates through the (equivalent) transmission line once the medium, the structure, and the load of the waveguide circuit or the transmission line circuit are chosen. It is also shown that, by choosing an appropriate frequency, transmission line, and load, one can achieve the negative power factor of the (equivalent) transmission line circuit, and also make the power delivered from the source be lesser than that consumed at the load.
Abstract: Disclosed in some examples are methods, systems, devices, and machine-readable mediums which provide for sidebar communication threads forked from, or related to, a principal thread. Messages in the sidebar communication thread may include a history of the principal thread, including one or more messages from the principal thread, and may include a proposed principal thread message that is the subject of the sidebar thread discussion. The sidebar thread may also include sidebar thread messages that carries the conversation of the sidebar thread participants. Once a termination condition is reached for the sidebar thread, the sidebar thread terminates and either the proposed principal thread message (as potentially modified by participants of the sidebar thread) becomes an accepted principal thread message and it is posted to the principal thread as if it was sent by the sidebar initiator or no message is posted (e.g., the proposed principal thread message is rejected).
Abstract: A system and method of managing network resources is provided, in which a noise threshold for an access node is set, the access node being configured for communication in both of a first and a second communication mode; a noise parameter in a band of the first communication mode is monitored; a join request is received from a wireless device, the wireless device being configured for communication in both of the first and the second communication mode; the noise parameter is compared to the noise threshold; in response to a determination that the noise parameter does not exceed the noise threshold, the wireless device is assigned to the first communication mode; and in response to a determination that the noise parameter exceeds the noise threshold, the wireless device is assigned to the second communication mode.
Abstract: A method of managing a wireless communication between a plurality of accessory devices and a host device includes, at the host device, establishing a data connection with a plurality of accessory devices, obtaining a radio ID for each accessory device of the plurality of accessory devices, grouping the plurality of accessory devices into at least one OFDMA device and at least one non-OFDMA device based at least partially on the radio IDs, sending a trigger signal to the at least one OFDMA device; and after receiving a first response signal from the at least one OFDMA device in response to the trigger signal, receiving a second response signal from the at least one non-OFDMA device.

Abstract: A UE communicates with a network gateway to access a provisioning device via a provisioning network. The provisioning device uses identification data of the UE to authenticate the UE for a primary network, and provides primary network configuration data to the UE. Using the primary network configuration data, the UE communicates with the network gateway to access the primary network. The primary network configuration data can include data to enable the UE to establish communications with one or more private networks accessible via the primary network.
Abstract: These teachings relate to a device that includes a base having an axis that is centered and perpendicular relative to the base and two or more arms each connected to the base at a base hinge The base hinge rotates the two or more arms away from the axis, and one or more expandable bands are connected with distal ends of the two or more arms. The one or more expandable bands absorb energy from rotating of the two or more arms. The device absorbs energy when an external force is applied along the axis of the base.
