Abstract: The present application describes a method and apparatus for managing a service in a service layer. In particular, a method describes a computer readable storage medium including instructions for managing a service in a service layer where the instructions are executed by a processor. The executed instructions cause the processor to receive a request to manage, via a service enabler function of the service layer, a change of state of the service including adding, removing, activating, or deactivating the service. The request may include a service description. The executed instructions also cause the processor to evaluate, via the service enabler function, the service description comprising identifiers of one or more services to manage. The executed instructions further cause the processor to identify one or more service capabilities in the service layer to assist in managing the one or more services identified in the service description.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for management of multiple processor cores in a multi-core system-on-chip (SoC). In an implementation, the SoC may configure each processor core in a first subset of processor cores as a management controller for performing system management functions for processor cores not in the first subset, the first subset comprising at least one processor core from the plurality of processor cores. System management functions are handled by the processor cores in the first subset, while operating system functions are handled by the processor cores not in the first subset. In an implementation, the number of processor cores to be included in the first subset (which may be zero if it is desired that the SoC may operate in legacy mode), may be controlled at boot time according to a boot setting.

Abstract: A propulsion control system has an electric motor configured to generate an axle torque in response to a final torque command, and has a motor constraint that specifies a maximum torque. A motor controller is configured to generate the final torque command in response to an intermediate torque command and a distributed power limit command. An open-loop function in supervisory controller is configured to calculate an initial torque command vector in response to a driver torque command, calculate an intended operating vector by mapping the initial torque command vector into a multidimensional power space, generate the intermediate torque command by clipping the intended operating vector in response to the motor constraint, generate a constrained command vector by clipping the intended operating vector in response to the motor constraint and a plurality of energy storage constraints, and generate the distributed power limit command in response to the constrained command vector.

Abstract: Optimization of an aerial density capability (ADC) leveraging different qualities of media surfaces to which sub-portions of an encoded data portion are written. That is, data may be encoded to generate an encoded data portion according to a coding scheme. In turn, the encoded data portion may be divided into a plurality of sub-portions, each of which may be written to different media surfaces in a storage drive. The sub-portions may be read from the different media surfaces and combined to generate a recreated encoded data portion that is decoded using the coding scheme. As the encoded data portion is divided into sub-portions, the combined sub-portions may provide different error rates or signal-to-noise ratios that may allow for lower quality sub-portions to be assisted during the decoding process by higher quality sub-portions.

Abstract: A vehicle having park assist includes a plurality of powered closure doors, each door having an actuator for moving the door between closed and open positions, a plurality of sensors located on the vehicle for sensing objects relative to the vehicle and generating sensed signals indicative of the sensed objects, and a transceiver for communicating with a parked vehicle. The vehicle also includes a controller processing the sensed signals, determining a distance and location of the sensed objects relative to the doors, and determining a parking location for the vehicle in a garage where the closure doors are free from contact with an object in the garage when in an open position and are free of contact with powered closure doors on the parked vehicle. An output is provided to assist a driver of the vehicle to park the vehicle in the garage in the determined parking location.

Abstract: Embolization particles can be safely delivered to the left gastric artery of a patient by introducing the distal end of a catheter in the patient's left gastric artery, inflating a balloon located near the distal end of the catheter so that the balloon prevents blood from flowing through the left gastric artery, and injecting a mixture of particles and contrast agent into the proximal end of the catheter so that they flow through the catheter. In addition, a path is provided for blood to flow into the catheter through an opening in the sidewall of the catheter at a position that is proximal to the balloon, and out through the distal end of the catheter. This blood flow helps to carry the particles along to their destination in the distal portion of the left gastric artery. The particles are also prevented from flowing into portions of the patient's artery system that are proximal of the balloon.
Abstract: Multiports having connection ports formed in the shell and associated securing features are disclosed. One aspect of the disclosure is directed to a multiport for providing an optical connection comprising a shell comprising a first portion, at least one connection port comprising an optical connector opening, and a connection port passageway formed in the first portion of the shell, where the at least one securing feature is associated with the at least one connection port.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a network interface and a processor. The network interface receives event data that identifies a content ID and a message authentication code. The content ID identifies a content within a webcast or a virtual event. The processor generates a content hash, at least in part based on the content ID. The network interface transmits a content request and receives the content. The content request identifies the content hash and the message authentication code.
Abstract: The techniques disclosed herein enable systems to reduce the time required to terminate a set of microservices for an application while ensuring high availability and preventing request failures. This is accomplished through a termination manager which retrieves request queues for the microservices to analyze outstanding requests that require processing prior to termination. Based on the outstanding requests, the termination manager constructs call graphs for each request. The call graphs capture the operational flow of the associated request by defining a sequence of microservices whose functionality is invoked by the request. From an initial analysis, the termination manager can determine that some of the microservices do not appear in the call graphs, indicating that the microservices are not needed to process the outstanding requests. Accordingly, the unneeded microservices are terminated.
