Abstract: A system and method for evaluating performance of a model used in providing a response to a product help inquiry includes receiving the product help inquiry, classifying the product help inquiry as being associated with a topic related to a product, and retrieving a path of actions provided in a help documentation associated with the topic. A prompt is also generated based on the product help inquiry for transmission to the model and a response is provided by the model, before a path of actions included the response is extracted. Contextual embeddings for the extracted path are generated and semantic similarities between contextual embeddings for the extracted path and embeddings generated for an expected response are measured. By generating contextual embeddings for the extracted path instead of the entire response, resources required for evaluating the response are significantly reduced. A path coverage metric is measured for the extracted path.

Abstract: A storefront shelf can have a shelf front, a shelf top, a shelf bottom, a right sidewall, and a left sidewall. The shelf front includes a transparent barrier, one or more product exit apertures, one or more product movement apertures, and a set of restocking components. The transparent barrier permits shoppers to view shelf contained products and, when closed, inhibits extraction of any of a set of shelf contained products except through at least one product exit aperture. Each product exit aperture is an opening in the shelf front sufficiently large to permit one of the shelf contained products to pass. The product movement apertures are each opening in the shelf front sufficiently large to permit a hand of the shopper to pass and to thereafter manipulate positions of the shelf contained product(s). The set of restocking components are connected to open and close the transparent barrier. When the transparent barrier is open the shelf contained products can be restocked via the opening.

Abstract: A computing system retrieves ball-by-ball data for a plurality of sporting events. The computing system generates a trained neural network based on ball-by-ball data supplemented with ball-by-ball data with ball-by-ball match context features and personalized embeddings based on a batsman and a bowler for each delivery. The computing system receives a target batsman and a target bowler for a pitch to be delivered in a target event. The computing system identifies target ball-by-ball data for a window of pitches preceding the to be delivered pitch. The computing system retrieves historical ball-by-ball data for each of the target batsman and the target bowler. The computing system generates personalized embeddings for both the target batsman and the target bowler based on the historical ball-by-ball data. The computing system predicts a shot type for the pitch to be delivered based on the target ball-by-ball data and the personalized embeddings.

Abstract: In addition to an original prompt that is manually provided by a user, contextual information is sent to a generative AI to elicit a higher quality response. Sensors collect audio, video, physiological, cognitive, environmental, and digital data from the user. Machine-learning models evaluate the sensor data to infer the emotional state of the user. The emotional state is used to augment the original prompt with contextual information. The augmented prompt is fed into the generative AI to make it context-aware. Accordingly, the generative AI can automatically pick up on non-verbal cues that the user did not manually articulate in the original prompt. Just as a human-to-human conversation involves a combination of verbal and non-verbal communications, the present concepts enable the generative AI to also leverage non-verbal communication when interacting with human users.

Abstract: A method for open-vocabulary query-based dense retrieval is provided. The method includes monitoring camera data including an image related to an object and referencing a set of queries, each of the queries describing a candidate object to be updated by a remote server device. An encoder of an open-vocabulary pre-trained vision-language model system is utilized to initialize a predefined embedding for each query, and a classifier is initialized by mapping the predefined embeddings to weights of the classifier. The method further includes applying a dense open-vocabulary image encoder on the camera data to create a mass of dense embeddings including a set of spatially-arranged embeddings for the image, each including a matrix including embedding vectors. The classifier is utilized by applying the classifier to the plurality of embedding vectors to classify the object within the operating environment as an identified object. The method further includes publishing the identified object.

Abstract: The disclosure is generally directed to vehicle load balancing systems and methods. An example method executed by a processor includes receiving, from a weight sensor, a first weight measurement of a cargo item placed upon a cargo bed of a vehicle and further includes receiving a second weight measurement from the weight sensor after detecting that the vehicle is in motion. The processor then determines, based on detecting a difference between the first weight measurement and the second weight measurement that the cargo item has shifted from a first spot to a second spot on the cargo bed. The example method can further involve placing the cargo bed in a tilted configuration followed by configuring the vehicle to jerk sporadically while traveling in a first direction that is selected to shift the cargo item back from the second spot to the first spot on the cargo bed.
