Patent number: 10706516Abstract: A system and method for comparing and searching for digital data, such as images, using histograms includes receiving a source image, receiving a comparison image, generating a first histogram for the source image and generating a second histogram for the comparison image. The source image may be received from a network device, such as a computer or camera, and the comparison image may one of a plurality of stored images in a database. The histograms may correspond to an image characteristic, including a color histogram corresponding to the distribution of the intensity of a corresponding color among image pixels in the source image. Each of first and second histograms is normalized and a similarity score is calculated between the two histograms. The similarity score represents a similarity measure between the two histograms, calculated from a subset of bins, which are independently selected for each image.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2017Date of Patent: July 7, 2020Assignee: FLIR Systems, Inc.Inventor: Stefan Schulte

Patent number: 10702231Abstract: According to one embodiment, a medical image processing apparatus includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry obtains first and second blood vessel image by image generation processing which obtains time phase changes in concentrations of a contrast agent based on X-ray contrast image and generates time phase image according to a gray or color scale. The time phase image has pixel values corresponding to time phases at which the concentrations of the contrast agent become a specific condition. The image generation processing is performed multiple times based on X-ray contrast images acquired at different times. Further, the processing circuitry determines or corrects pixel values or time phases of at least one of the first and second blood vessel image, to make a pixel value of a time phase of the first blood vessel image coincident with that of the second blood vessel image.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 2015Date of Patent: July 7, 2020Assignee: Canon Medical Systems CorporationInventor: Satoru Ohishi

Patent number: 10702234Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided to generate two X-ray projection images, using different focal-spot sizes in the X-ray source. The large and small focal-spot images have different image qualities (e.g., different signal-to-noise rations (SNR) and different resolution). The two images are combined, in either the spatial or frequency domains, to generate a combined image, exhibiting the best attributes of the constitutive small and large focal-spot images. In the spatial domain, change regions and uniform regions are determined based on spatial variations within the images, and the superposition generating the combined image weights the small focal-spot image more in the change regions and the large focal-spot image more in the uniform regions. In the frequency domain, the combined image superimposes low-frequency components of the large focal-spot image with high-frequency components of the small focal-spot image.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2017Date of Patent: July 7, 2020Assignee: CANON MEDICAL SYSTEMS CORPORATIONInventors: Amit Jain, Joseph Manak, Haruki Iwai
