Abstract: Methods and apparatus implementing systems and techniques for accessing text-based linearized graph data. In general, in one aspect, a method includes obtaining text-based linearized graph data representing a data structure having nodes, and generating node-traversal data for the text-based linearized graph data, where the node-traversal data identifies for each of a subset of nodes in the represented data structure one or more locations in the text-based linearized graph data corresponding to one or more other nodes in the represented data structure, and associating the node-traversal data with the text-based linearized graph data. For example, linear offsets can be added to a document including text-based linearized graph data, such as an XML document, to enable random access to the represented nodes without having to parse the entire document, and without interfering with the generally understood structure and content of the document.

Abstract: A body armor plate is configured to provide ballistics protection to a wearer of the plate. For example, the plate may be configured to protect the upper torso of the wearer from high-speed, ballistic projectiles like bullets, shrapnel, and/or other projectiles. In some implementations, the plate may include one or more electronic modules formed integrally therewith. Formation of the electronic modules integrally with the plate may enhance the functionality of the plate, may enhance the convenience (e.g., the form factor, the weight, the portability, etc.) of the electronics modules, robustness of the electronics modules, and/or other aspects of the electronics modules. The combination of the plate and the electronics modules may specifically provide various enhancements to, for example, military or law enforcement personnel that rely on the plate for ballistics protection.

Abstract: A slider (50) is mounted on a housing (20) movable between a wait position and a detection position. The slider (50), at the detection position, is at a position opposite to a flexing direction of a locking arm (26) to prevent the locking arm (26) from flexing in an unlocking direction. In a process of shifting the slider (50) from the wait position to the detection position, a guide portion (45) gradually displaces the slider (50) toward the detection position in a direction in which the degree of locking between the slider (50) and the locking arm (26) becomes higher. At the detection position, a detection piece (54) of the slider (50) takes a downwardly inclining posture at its front portion to press down a front portion of the locking arm (26) from above.
Abstract: A system and method are provided for pooling storage devices in a virtual library for performing a storage operation. A storage management device determines a storage characteristic of a plurality of storage devices with respect to performing a storage operation. Based on a storage characteristic relating to performing the storage operation, the storage management device associates at least two storage devices in a virtual library. The storage management device may continuously monitor the virtual library and detect a change in storage characteristics of the storage devices. When changes in storage characteristics are detected, the storage management device may change associations of the storage device in the virtual library.

Abstract: A system and method for converting low-jitter, interleaved frame traffic, such as that generated in an IP network, to high jitter traffic to improve the utilization of bandwidth on arbitrated loops such as Fibre Channel Arbitrated Loops. Embodiments of a high jitter scheduling algorithm may be used in devices such as network switches that interface an arbitrated loop with an IP network that carries low-jitter traffic. The high jitter algorithm may use a separate queue for each device on the arbitrated loop, or alternatively may use one queue for two or more devices. Incoming frames are distributed among the queues based upon each frame's destination device. The scheduling algorithm may then service the queues and forward queued frames to the devices from the queues. In one embodiment, the queues are serviced in a round-robin fashion. In one embodiment, each queue may be serviced for a programmed limit.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include a temperature sensor method for providing an output voltage response that is linear to the temperature of the integrated circuit to which the temperature sensor belongs and/or the integrated circuit die on which the temperature sensor resides. The output voltage of the temperature sensor has an adjustable gain component and an adjustable voltage offset component that both are adjustable independently based on circuit parameters. The inventive temperature sensor includes an offset circuit that diverts a portion of current from the scaled PTAT current before the current is sourced through the output resistor. The offset circuit includes a bandgap circuit arrangement, a voltage to current converter arrangement, and a current mirror arrangement that are configured to provide a voltage offset adjustable based on independent circuit parameters such as resistor value ratios and transistor device scaling ratios.
Abstract: A board connector (10) has a housing (20) with a terminal holding portion (40) for holding terminals (30) in forward and backward directions and a receptacle extends forward from the terminal holding portion (40). Mount grooves (60) are formed in side walls (52) of the receptacle (50). Board fixing portions (70) are held in the mount grooves (60) within the thickness range of the side walls and are soldered to the upper surface of a printed board (P). Mounting portions (54) are formed in the side walls (52) and have open front ends. Restricting members (80) are formed separately from the mating connector and mountable within the thickness range of the side walls (52) forward of the board fixing portions (70). One end of each restricting member (54) engages lower surfaces (54A) of the mounting portions (54) and the other end engages the lower surface of the printed board (P).
Abstract: A vehicle protection system 7 contains an airbag system 8 employing a plurality of sets of airbags 118a-118c external to the vehicle 9. Each set 118a-118c contains one or more airbags 118 wherein the plurality of sets 118a-118c are sequentially operated based on initial collision data, and then based on operating parameters such as pressure differentials over time.
Abstract: As described herein, signaling events occurring in neurons or at neuronal synapses have been identified that involve Cdk5 and various other molecules which bind to, are activated by, and/or activate Cdk5. Of particular relevance are interactions that stimulate calpain cleavage of p35 into p25, which binds Cdk5 in pathologic states. Assays to identify modulators of these interactions are provided.

Abstract: A method and apparatus to provide evidence that a person who is intended to make a required inspection was actually physically present at a predefined location associated with the inspection, so that the inspection could have been done, and if not, to provide an indication of the failure to perform the inspection. This invention is particularly well suited to determine if required pre/post-trip inspections of vehicles have been performed. Detecting a triggering condition, such as powering on (or off) equipment, indicates the beginning of a period of time during which the inspection is to be performed. The monitoring system waits for a predetermined event to occur, which indicates the period of time has expired and determines if data corresponding to the inspection have been received. If not, it is concluded that the inspection has not been performed.

The transaction records may be stored in Flash memory.
