Abstract: Systems and methods for processing high purity materials are disclosed. A unit operation processes a material stream, an operational parameter of the unit operation is monitored, and a standby unit is charged with pressurized gas to achieve system pressure. The material stream is diverted to the standby unit in response to the operational parameter of the unit operation registering a threshold value. Flow exiting the standby unit is first vented via an outlet, and then directed toward a point of use after the pressurized gas has been purged. The unit operation may then be serviced and subsequently brought back online. A second unit operation may process a second material stream simultaneously, and the second material stream may be periodically diverted to the standby unit in like manner, thus reducing line pressure variation. The disclosed method may be performed manually or implemented automatically through use of a controller.

Abstract: A bidirectional Trench Lateral Power MOSFET (TLPM) can achieve a high breakdown voltage and a low on-resistance. A plurality of straight-shaped islands having circular portions at both ends are surrounded by a trench arrangement. The islands provide first n source regions and a second n source region is formed on the outside of the islands. With such a pattern, the breakdown voltage in the case where the first n source regions are at a high potential can be higher than the breakdown voltage in the case where the second n source region is at a high potential. Alternatively, in the case of not changing the breakdown voltage, the on-resistance can be reduced.
Abstract: Coating installation, specifically for painting automobile body parts, having at least two application robots (3, 5) for applying a coating means to a target, at least two handling robots (4. 6) for handling the target and two linear guides (1, 2) along which the handling robots (4. 6) and the application robots (3, 5) can be driven. It is proposed that each of the two linear guides (1, 2) carries at least one of the application robots (3, 5) and at least one of the handling robots (4. 6).
Abstract: A multi-chamber processing system is described for depositing materials on multiple workpieces (wafers, display panels, or any other workpieces) at a time in a vacuum chamber. Multiple magnets (one for each target) in the magnetron assembly in the sputtering chamber oscillate over their respective targets for uniform target erosion and uniform deposition on the wafers. An electrically insulated target backing plate between each magnet and a target has a liquid channel running through it for controlling temperature, where the liquid channel has a wider cross-sectional area around the middle portion of the target backing plate to increase cooling of the middle portion of the target. The distance between the magnets and the targets is made very small by a thin aluminum plate fixed to the bottom segment of the target backing plate by a dip brazing process.

Abstract: A transmitting controller is connected to a powerline and on command places a reference signal and a series of signal pulses in the powerline at a series of signal timing positions related to zero voltage crossing points so that the signals pulses are substantially in the powerline temporal quiet zone. The receiving controller is connected to the powerline and has a filter circuit therein which filters away the powerline AC signal and noise to leave the reference and signal pulses. The signal pulses are compared to the position of starting reference pulses to determine in which signal timing position the pulses have occurred. Digital data is communicated over the powerline in accordance with the nature placement of the data pulses related to the reference pulse positions. The timing zone for transmission and signals is preferably about 500 to about 1000 microseconds away from zero voltage crossing.
