Abstract: A system identifies purchasable digital content to be used in development of a digital composition by receiving a request to identify a set of digital content, and retrieving access history for individual portions of digital content that match the request. The access history includes a number of times the individual portions of digital content have been accessed. The system then produces a set of digital content indicative of the access history for each individual portion of digital content, and outputs the set of digital content that matches the request, and that reflects the access history for individual portions of digital content.
Abstract: An apparatus (10) helps protect an occupant (16) of a vehicle (12). The apparatus (12) includes an inflatable vehicle occupant protection device (14) that is inflatable to help protect the vehicle occupant (16). A vent opening (52) directs flow of inflation fluid away from the protection device (14). A vent member (60) is movable between an open condition enabling flow of inflation fluid away from the protection device (14) through the vent opening (52) and a closed condition at least partially blocking flow of inflation fluid away from the protection device through the vent opening. A panel (80) receives and transfers the force of inflation directed into the protection device to the vent member to urge the vent member toward the closed condition.

Abstract: A weapon system comprising a barrel for accommodating a projectile in a breech end portion, a muzzle end portion and a breech. The weapon system further comprises means for purging the barrel comprising a coanda slot, a coanda profile provided downstream of the coanda slot, and a source of pressurized gas, a duct which connects the source of pressurized gas to the coanda slot so that pressurized gas can be selectively supplied to the coanda slot and along the coanda profile, thereby entraining air in the barrel and exhausting debris and/or fumes through the muzzle end portion after firing of a projectile, and a valve for controlling flow of gas through the duct.

Abstract: A universal support device for supporting a reconfigurable electronics device is disclosed. The universal support device includes an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) module coupled to multiple non-volatile memory devices. The ASIC module is capable of interfacing with an external reconfigurable electronics device via a set of load/read-back interface lines and sense mitigation lines. The load/read-back interface lines are capable of being programmed to provide a parallel or a serial load and/or store protocols. The sense mitigation line can sense conditions that indicate a single-event functional interrupt or a radiation-induced event occurred within the reconfigurable electronics device.

Abstract: In a method or device for simultaneous double-sided printing of a recording medium, the first toner image having toner charged with a first polarity is generated on a first transfer belt and a second toner image having toner also charged with the first polarity is generated on a second transfer belt. A charge shifting device is provided along with a recharging device. At least one of the charge shifting device and the recharging device has a corotron. With the charge shifting device, the charge of the first toner image is shifted to a second polarity opposite to the first polarity and with the recharging device the second toner image with the first polarity is recharged. The recording medium is passed between the first and the second transfer belts.

Abstract: Virtual concatenation circuitry is disclosed for implementation in a network element of a data communication network. The virtual concatenation circuitry in a preferred embodiment is operative: (i) to maintain, for each of the individual member streams of a virtual concatenation stream, a corresponding counter which tracks pointer adjustments for that member stream; and (ii) to generate pointers based on values of the counters so as to substantially equalize incoming and outgoing pointer adjustments for the member streams at the network element.
Abstract: Provided herein are systems, methods and compositions for the use of optical coherence tomography for detection of cells and for killing detected cells. A detected cell can be killed or injured by contacting a composition comprised by the cell with energy. Energy can be applied to a particle comprised by the cell.

Abstract: An inexpensive fluorescent object is provided which may be used, for example, as a test object for color adjustment of a fluorescent endoscope system. The fluorescent object generates fluorescence while minimizing the generation of ‘noise’ at undesired wavelengths, and is made using a plastic that substantially does not deteriorate upon exposure to U.V. and visible radiation. A method of producing the fluorescent object is disclosed, namely, a plastic powder (such as PTFE) and an inorganic fluorescent powder (such as Mn-doped ZnS) are blended so as to form a mixture of these components, and the mixture is then molded by applying pressure to the mixture. An important feature of the invention is that heat is not added during any phase in the production of the fluorescent object, thereby preventing the inorganic fluorescent powder from being denatured when producing the fluorescent object.

Abstract: A material which is generally transparent in the visible region of the spectrum but reflective at laser wavelengths reduces undesirable, substrate-induced Raman and fluorescence scattering. A substrate provides a surface for supporting the sample, with the material being disposed between the surface of the substrate and the sample. The material is substantially transparent in the visible region of the spectrum but reflective at the laser wavelength, thereby minimizing unwanted Raman or fluorescence scattering that would be produced by the substrate if the material were not present. The substrate will typically be a glass microscope slide or multi-cell well plate. The optical filter material is preferably a multilayer dielectric filter acting as a “hot mirror” that reflects near-infrared energy. An advantage of visible transmission is that it allows back illumination from behind/underneath the slide or well plate, thereby being visible to a microscope's eyepiece or video camera.
Abstract: A tensioning assembly for use in an aero-mechanical conveyor for moving bulk materials. The conveyor includes upper and lower housings having head and tail pulley assemblies mounted therein. The tensioning assembly includes first and second extendable tubes that define sections of inflow and outflow conveyor tubes that interconnect the upper and lower housings. An endless rope assembly is disposed within the conveyor tubes and around the head and tail pulleys. An adjustable actuator is positioned in cooperative engagement with the first and second extendable tubes. When the actuator is in a first position, the extendable tubes have a first length and when the actuator is in a second position, the extendable tubes have a second length. The actuator is configured to move between the first position and the second position in response to changes in tension within the endless rope assembly as indicated by a signal from a tension measuring device.
Abstract: Various systems and methods for code dependency reduction are disclosed herein. For example, one method includes receiving an un-encoded data set that is represented as an array of columns and rows. In addition, two groups of data bits traversing the un-encoded data set at respective angles are formed. Based at least in part on the aforementioned groups of data sets, an angle at which a third group of data bits will traverse the un-encoded data set is identified, and a third group of data bits traversing the un-encoded data set at the third angle is formed.

The attachment feature includes a staple receiving portion including two ends, each of which has a staple retaining end disposed adjacent thereto. The staple receiving portion is configured to receive surgical staples, and the staple retaining ends are configured to inhibit the staple receiving portion from dislodging from the surgical staples.
Abstract: A puncture adapter is provided for being mounted on an ultrasonic probe. The ultrasonic probe to be mounted comprises a rod-like insertion portion that is insertable into a subject and has a search unit for transmitting and receiving ultrasonic waves at the tip end of the insertion portion, and in which a guide channel for guiding a puncture needle is formed on a side surface of the insertion portion. This puncture adapter has a first tubular component on which a gap is provided on a side surface along the length direction, which gap is from one end to the other side of the side surface. The first tubular component is mounted so as to contact the outside of the insertion portion and cover the guide channel, and is turnable in the circumferential direction thereof.
