  • Patent number: 11642856
Abstract: A method for joining two objects by anchoring an insert portion provided on one of the objects in an opening provided on the other one of the objects. The anchorage is achieved by liquefaction of a thermoplastic material and interpenetration of the liquefied material and a penetrable material, the two materials being arranged on opposite surfaces of the insert portion and the wall of the opening. Before such liquefaction and interpenetration, an interference fit is established in which such opposite surfaces are pressed against each other, and, for the anchoring, mechanical vibration energy and possibly a shearing force are applied, wherein the shearing force puts a shear stress on the interference fit.

  • Patent number: 11645169
Abstract: Illustrative embodiments represent a dynamic on-demand approach to configuring destination storage for bare metal restore (BMR) operations without operator intervention, including destination storage that is smaller than source storage devices. The illustrative operations rely on system state information collected concurrently with or shortly after source data is backed up, thereby capturing current actual storage metrics for the source data. The illustrative embodiments further rely on enhanced data agent components to collect and restore system state information as well as to restore backup data, thereby streamlining the configurations needed for the BMR operation to proceed. Additional business logic matches source mount points with suitable smaller destination storage resources and ensures that the BMR operation successfully completes with diverse and/or smaller storage destinations.

  • Patent number: 11645765
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide various examples of real-time visual object tracking. In another aspect, a process for performing a local re-identification of a target object which was earlier detected in a video but later lost when tracking the target object is disclosed. This process begins by receiving a current video frame of the video and a predicted location of the target object. The process then places a current search window in the current video frame centered on or in the vicinity of the predicted location of the target object. Next, the process extracts a feature map from an image patch within the current search window. The process further retrieves a set of stored feature maps computed at a set of previously-determined locations of the target object from a set of previously-processed video frames in the video. The process next computes a set of correlation maps between the feature map and each of the set of stored feature maps.
