Patent number: 8753236Abstract: A segmented pulley transmission [20] is provided. A pulley assembly [36] is rotationally mounted on an axle [32]. The pulley assembly [36] includes a core pulley [45] having a first set of mating features on a peripheral surface thereof. A pulley segment set comprises a number of pulley segments [48] slidably mounted in the pulley assembly and arranged in a ring concentric with the core pulley [45]. The pulley segments [48] are individually actuatable out of the pulley assembly into an engaging position and into the pulley assembly into a non-engaging position. The pulley segments [48] have a second set of mating features [52] on an peripheral surface matching the first set of mating features. An endless drive member [47] has corresponding mating features on an inside surface for engaging the first and second sets of mating features of the core pulley [45] and the pulley segments [48] in an engaging position. Contact between the endless drive member [47] and a core pulley defines a contact zone [CZ].Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 2005Date of Patent: June 17, 2014Assignee: 1783590 Ontario Ltd.Inventors: Anthony Wong, Paul Boterro, Michael Doyle

Publication number: 20140155207Abstract: A key pulley segment in a synchronized, segmentally interchanging pulley transmission system is either first or last in a pulley segment set to engage an endless member. The first or last key segment teeth to engage or disengage, respectively, are shortened or completely trimmed, and the adjacent pulley segment to the key segment is elongated such that the inward portion of the tooth profile extends toward the key segment. Shortened tooth or teeth and an elongated adjacent segment together allow for many pulley segments to be designed as key segments. Completely trimmed teeth may be engineered to create a supporting surface for the endless member on the key segment. The elongated adjacent segment may have an extending portion which slidably mates with the supporting surface of the key segment, thereby receiving radial support therefrom.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 26, 2012Publication date: June 5, 2014Applicant: 1783590 Ontario Ltd. a/b/a InmotiveInventors: Anthony Wong, Paul Bottero, Michael Doyle

Publication number: 20140138923Abstract: A sharpening machine generally includes a grinding wheel having a perimeter that is rotatable about a first axis. The sharpening machine includes an adjustment device adapted to be coupled to a structure of the sharpening machine. A shaft, mounted to the adjustment device, defines a second axis that is generally parallel to the first axis when the adjustment device is coupled to the structure and is movable along a predetermined feed axis toward the grinding wheel. A carousel is rotatably connected to the shaft of the adjustment device. A contouring tool having a counter surface is rotatably connected to the carousel. Movement of the shaft of the adjustment device along the feed axis is configured to translate the carousel and move the contouring tool into and out of engagement with the grinding wheel to facilitate dressing of the perimeter of the grinding wheel to a grinding wheel contour.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 4, 2013Publication date: May 22, 2014Applicant: 1339513 Ontario Ltd.Inventors: Murray David Wilson, Steven David Wilson, Omer Leon Hageniers

Publication number: 20140113018Abstract: A stamping apparatus may be used to cut a dough product having a hole from a dough sheet. The stamping apparatus may have multiple cutting blades, depending from a platen, that are configured for cutting complementary open shapes, in phases, that together form a closed shape defining the dough product periphery. The stamping apparatus may also have a tubular cutting blade depending from the platen, configured to cut a closed shape defining the dough product hole, that is nested within one of the blades that is configured to cut an open shape. The tubular cutting blade may be retractable about a finger contained therewithin that remains in a fixed position in relation to the tubular cutting blade as the blade retracts. Air trapped within the tubular cutting blade, between the finger and a cutout dough piece that does not form part of the dough product, may become compressed during blade retraction. The compression may facilitate ejection of the cutout dough piece from the tubular cutting blade.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 24, 2013Publication date: April 24, 2014Applicant: 2168587 ONTARIO LTD.Inventors: Boris SEREBRYANY, Randy Gerrard ALLINSON, Zinovy OCHAKOVSKY, Serguei VIALYKH, Viktor GONTCHAROV

Patent number: 8628427Abstract: A somewhat flexible floor assembly is supported by a matrix of spaced-apart vertically-adjustable devices, such as electrically-operated jacks operated by servo motors. The devices are centrally individually controlled whereby height of the devices may be individually varied so that the floor surface may have its contour varied as desired. Somewhat flexible metal rods are supported by the jacks, and they in turn support joist assemblies which support a subfloor and flooring surface. The vertically-adjustable devices may be controlled by a computer, which may access data corresponding to a number of selectable pre-configured contours, such that selection of one of the pre-configured contours causes the height of the devices to vary so as to move the floor surface to a configuration corresponding to the selected pre-configured contour. The pre-configured contour may be, for example, a simulation of a real-life golf green.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2011Date of Patent: January 14, 2014Assignee: 1066626 Ontario Ltd.Inventors: Arthur Koberinski, Kailash C. Publication number: 20130337139Abstract: A process for making an alcohol-containing frozen comestible substantially devoid of ice crystal agglomerations and/or ice crystal striations and/or trapped air and/or liquids is provided. The process includes substantially flash freezing an alcohol-containing liquid composition so as to produce a substantially single-phase solid alcohol-containing composition. The solid alcohol-containing composition, and/or pieces thereof, are then exposed to an environment having temperature of from about ?15° C. to about ?30° C. so as to soften the solid alcohol-containing compositions and/or meld the pieces thereof into a single mass. The temperature of the single mass is then reduced so as to harden the single mass. Also, a process for incorporating a frozen alcohol-containing liquid composition into a non-alcohol-containing fraction is provided. Alcohol-containing liquid compositions suitable for use in the process are also provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 14, 2013Publication date: December 19, 2013Applicant: 2029067 ONTARIO LTD.Inventor: David H. Publication number: 20130293350Abstract: An access control system is provided for controlling access between a secured side and a non-secured side of an access control point. A reader module is disposed on the secured side of the access control point for receiving authentication data from an individual. A controller unit is disposed on the non-secured side of the access control point, and has a housing that encloses an access control panel and a request-to-exit motion sensor. The access control panel is in communication with the reader module, an electronic lock mechanism, and the request-to-exit motion sensor. In response to receiving a data signal from the reader, the access control panel determines whether or not to unlock the lock. When it is determined that the lock should be unlocked, the access control panel provides a signal to the electronic lock for switching the lock from a secured condition to a released condition.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2013Publication date: November 7, 2013Applicant: 2262058 ONTARIO LTD.Inventor: Andy HARTMANN

Publication number: 20130192121Abstract: A deep diving fishing lure having a forwardly-extending diving lip is provided with a fore-and-aft pivotable lure positioning arm pivotably mounted about a pivot axis within the diving lip near the lower portion of the forward face. The lure positioning arm, when fixed in an aft position relative to the pivot axis rests within a longitudinally extending groove located in the diving lip. The lure positioning arm, when in the fixed aft position maintains the lure in a diving position when pulled through a body of water but negates the lure's tendency to dive when released from the aft position.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2013Publication date: August 1, 2013Applicant: 2327086 ONTARIO LTD.Inventor: 2327086 ONTARIO LTD.
