  • Patent number: 11074215
Abstract: An integrated digital-analog archiving system can automatically initiate a migration process to move electronic documents to a media library. For each electronic document, the system may retrieve the electronic document from a digital data storage medium, extract metadata from the electronic document, determine size, orientation, and format of the electronic document, generate indicators for indicating the start and end of the electronic document to be stored on an analog data storage medium, generate an analog document identifier for identifying the electronic document on the analog data storage medium, generate a scaled image of the electronic document based on the size, orientation, and format of the electronic document, generate a text string based at least in part on the extracted metadata, and render the indicators, the analog document identifier, the scaled image of the electronic document, and the text string on the analog data storage medium.

  • Patent number: 11044382
Abstract: An auto-rotation module having a single-layer neural network on a user device can convert a document image to a monochrome image having black and white pixels and segment the monochrome image into bounding boxes, each bounding box defining a connected segment of black pixels in the monochrome image. The auto-rotation module can determine textual snippets from the bounding boxes and prepare them into input images for the single-layer neural network. The single-layer neural network is trained to process each input image, recognize a correct orientation, and output a set of results for each input image. Each result indicates a probability associated with a particular orientation. The auto-rotation module can examine the results, determine what degree of rotation is needed to achieve a correct orientation of the document image, and automatically rotate the document image by the degree of rotation needed to achieve the correct orientation of the document image.

  • Patent number: 11023293
Abstract: Systems and methods for content management wherein a client can submit requests to a first API which the forwards the requests to either an IMDB or a gateway to a distributed cluster-computing framework. Requests to the IMDB are serviced and responses from the IMDB are returned to the client. Requests that are forwarded to the gateway are first modified for the distributed cluster-computing framework, and are then parsed by the gateway and used to instantiate processors that generate corresponding requests to the distributed cluster-computing framework. Responsive data from the distributed cluster-computing framework is used to generate responses to the client requests that are forwarded to the first API which modifies them to appear as if they were generated by the IMDB. These modified responses are returned by the first API to the client.

  • Patent number: 11017179
Abstract: A summarizer can be invoked by a user to summarize content. Once started, the summarizer can examine the content, determine a main body of the content, extract texts from the main body, concatenate the texts into a text block, and make a call to an artificial intelligence (AI) platform. The call can contain the text block and specify a user-configurable summarization range for summarizing the text block. The AI platform is operable to generate a sentiment of the text block and a summary of the text block in the summarization range and return them to the summarizer. The summarizer, in turn, can instruct an application on the user device to generate a window or page for displaying the sentiment and the summary in the summarization range on the user device, in real time and in context of the content that the user is viewing, reading, or listening.

  • Patent number: 11003632
Abstract: One embodiment of a system comprises a client computer and a remote content management system. The client computer comprises a synchronization manager that maintains a remote virtual model that models a synchronization state of a remote peer data resource at the content management system and a local virtual model that models a synchronization state of a local peer data resource in the local file system. The synchronization manager determines that the remote peer data resource and local peer data resource are out of sync based on a comparison of the remote virtual model and the local virtual model and synchronizes changes from the local cache to the content management system to update the remote peer data resource or changes from the content management system to update the local peer data resource.

  • Patent number: 10979595
Abstract: Embodiment of systems and methods for the sending, delivery or receiving of faxes are disclosed herein. In particular, certain embodiments include a fax connector that may be deployed at users' sites, and a fax registration system that may be deployed remotely from these users' site. The fax connector can be accessed at a user's site over a computer based network in order to perform functions associated with faxing, including sending, receiving and obtaining status on faxes. The fax connector deployed at a sending user's site communicates with the fax registration system to obtain destination data associated with a recipient user's fax connector and transmits the fax to the destination fax connector over the computer based network based on the destination data obtained from the registration system. The fax can then be presented to the recipient at the recipient user's site.

  • Patent number: 10977524
Abstract: A segmentation neural network is extended to provide classification at the segment level. An input image of a document is received and processed, utilizing a segmentation neural network, to detect pixels having a signature feature type. A signature heatmap of the input image can be generated based on the pixels in the input image having the signature feature type. The segmentation neural network is extended from here to further process the signature heatmap by morphing it to include noise surrounding an object of interest. This creates a signature region that can have no defined shape or size. The morphed heatmap acts as a mask so that each signature region or object in the input image can be detected as a segment. Based on this segment-level detection, the input image is classified. The classification result can be provided as feedback to a machine learning framework to refine training.

  • Patent number: 10970320
Abstract: A microservice running in a cloud computing environment is operable to perform a coordinate-based search responsive to a request from a requester such as a viewer that serves a web application in a browser on a user device. The request contains a set of coordinates of a user-defined area which highlights information of interest that the user wants to redact from a document displayed by the viewer on the user device. The document is a rendition of an internal representation generated from an original source document. The internal representation has a coordinate system that maps the location of text data in the original source document. The microservice utilizes the coordinate system to search every instance of the information of interest in the text data, generates corresponding bounding boxes, and sends the coordinates of the bounding boxes to the viewer which creates the bounding boxes to highlight/block all the instances.

  • Patent number: 10958876
Abstract: Several ways are provided for a viewer of a movie to create a deep tag, that is, a bookmark for a segment of the movie. The deep tag can be associated with descriptive text and sent to an address provided by the viewer, either an e-mail address or an instant messaging address. Additionally, before the deep tag is created, it can be checked whether the content owner of the movie is known. If known, the content owner's rules, if any, regarding deep tagging are followed. If unknown, a set of registered content owners can be alerted of the presence of new content. When ownership of the new content is established, the already-created deep tags can be updated in accordance with the content owner's rules, if any, regarding deep tagging.

  • Patent number: 10950273
Abstract: A method of placing an ad in a video in an original format may include producing a transcoded video in a proxy format which is a representation of frames of the video in the original format. The transcoded video in the proxy format is convertible to other formats for output. The method may include selecting the ad from a set of ads, selecting a location within a frame of the transcoded video where the ad is to be placed, selecting frames of the transcoded video where the ad is to be placed, placing a placeholder in the transcoded video in the selected frames at the selected location, and storing the transcoded video in the proxy format. When the transcoded video is presented to a user on a display device, the selected ad is inserted in place of the placeholder.
