Patent number: 11514356Abstract: A machine learning (ML) model publisher can, responsive to an indication that a ML model is ready for publication, generate a publication request form or page on a user device. The ML model publisher can be invoked from within a ML modeling application. Responsive to an instruction received through the publication request form or page, the ML model publisher can access a data structure in memory used in training the ML model and populate the publication request form or page with attributes required by the ML model to run. Responsive to activation of a single-click publication actuator, the ML model publisher can publish the ML model directly from the ML modeling application to a target computing system by providing, to the target computing system, a path to a repository location where the ML model is stored and information on the attributes required by the ML model to run.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 2019Date of Patent: November 29, 2022Assignee: OPEN TEXT SA ULCInventors: Isidre Royo Bonnin, Mariano Fernandez Garrido

Patent number: 11509795Abstract: An auto-rotation module having a single-layer neural network on a user device can convert a document image to a monochrome image having black and white pixels and segment the monochrome image into bounding boxes, each bounding box defining a connected segment of black pixels in the monochrome image. The auto-rotation module can determine textual snippets from the bounding boxes and prepare them into input images for the single-layer neural network. The single-layer neural network is trained to process each input image, recognize a correct orientation, and output a set of results for each input image. Each result indicates a probability associated with a particular orientation. The auto-rotation module can examine the results, determine what degree of rotation is needed to achieve a correct orientation of the document image, and automatically rotate the document image by the degree of rotation needed to achieve the correct orientation of the document image.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 2021Date of Patent: November 22, 2022Assignee: OPEN TEXT SA ULCInventor: Christopher Dale Lund

Patent number: 11481537Abstract: A document architecture system includes an intelligent document processing engine that can receive raw data streamed from external data source(s), analyze the raw data to identify triggering events, apply rules to the triggering events identified, break down the raw data accordingly, and generating messages in an internal format to represent the pieces of data without any formatting or layout information. The messages can be augmented with custom metadata and stored as fragments that reference, but that do not physically incorporate, the messages. The stored fragments can be used by the document process engine to intelligently render documents and versions thereof. The messages and fragments are in internal formats under control of the document architecture system. The renditions are in final formats that can be delivered, for instance, via an output connector to various output delivery channels.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 2017Date of Patent: October 25, 2022Assignee: Open Text SA ULCInventors: Robert Smith, Johan Lorenson, Christian Wessman, Sverker Wendelöv

Patent number: 11475208Abstract: Systems and methods for in-context editing of web pages in which the production format of a web page is visible while the web page is being edited, and the editable image is not distorted by the editing tools. In one embodiment, a system includes a server computer, a client computer and a transmission channel coupled between them. The server computer receives a request for a web page from the client computer and responsively transmits a web page containing in-context editing tools to the client computer. The client computer operate alternately in a first mode in which the in-context editing tools are superimposed on a web page image, or a second mode in which the web page image is displayed, but the in-context editing tools are hidden. The tools overlay in the first mode does not alter the production format of the web page image as displayed in the second mode.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2020Date of Patent: October 18, 2022Assignee: Open Text SA ULCInventors: Bertrand G. Patent number: 11463445Abstract: A content server can extend enterprise content management to a leading system in an efficient, automated, and seamless manner by leveraging the permission information provided by the leading system. The content server can sync the permission information with the leading system, evaluate user-manager relations, role-based rule definitions, and user-group associations defined in the leading system, and determine and/or update role memberships for workspaces created in the content server for users in the leading systems. In this way, even though the content server and the leading system have very different types of roles and permission models, the content server can evaluate complex relationships and role-based rules and intelligently, correctly, and quickly assign the right people to the right roles in the right workspaces in the content server.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 2020Date of Patent: October 4, 2022Assignee: OPEN TEXT SA ULCInventors: Thomas Demmler, Szabolcs Gyula Mile

Patent number: 11442901Abstract: An interface server (e.g., Web Application Open Platform Interface (WOPI) server) is communicatively connected to an information management (IM) server and to an online application server which acts as a client of the interface server. When a user wishes to open, create, or edit a document in an online application hosted by the online application server, the interface server is called, instead of the IM server which manages the document at the backend of an enterprise computing network. The interface server is configured for obtaining a working copy of the document from the IM server and providing the working copy to the client. The client provides the working copy to the online application for display on the user device. When the work is done, the working copy is sync'd back through the interface server to the IM server as a new draft and deleted by the interface server.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 2020Date of Patent: September 13, 2022Assignee: Open Text SA ULCInventors: Jody Hupton Palmer, Gary Clayton Cowan, Robert David James Reynolds

Patent number: 11399113Abstract: Embodiment of systems and methods for the sending, delivery or receiving of faxes are disclosed herein. In particular, certain embodiments include a fax connector that may be deployed at users' sites, and a fax registration system that may be deployed remotely from these users' site. The fax connector can be accessed at a user's site over a computer based network in order to perform functions associated with faxing, including sending, receiving and obtaining status on faxes. The fax connector deployed at a sending user's site communicates with the fax registration system to obtain destination data associated with a recipient user's fax connector and transmits the fax to the destination fax connector over the computer based network based on the destination data obtained from the registration system. The fax can then be presented to the recipient at the recipient user's site.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 2021Date of Patent: July 26, 2022Assignee: OPEN TEXT SA ULCInventor: Treber Rebert

Patent number: 11388037Abstract: Embodiments improve application gateway architecture by pushing secure managed service boundaries. Managed services that were previously available directly in application gateway code are separated from application gateway code and exposed to service clients in a controlled, secured manner via a RESTful API layer dedicated to the management and interaction of deployed managed services. The separation can be realized in management agents. A management agent receives a service request from an application and makes an API call to the dedicated management API layer of the managing application gateway. The application may run within a managed container on a user device. Responsive to the API call, the application gateway sends a control or configuration message to the management agent over HTTP. The management agent controls or configures the managed service to function or behave as dictated by the application gateway.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 2017Date of Patent: July 12, 2022Assignee: OPEN TEXT SA ULCInventor: Rhys Christopher Evans

Patent number: 11381779Abstract: Several ways are provided for a viewer of a movie to create a deep tag, that is, a bookmark for a segment of the movie. The deep tag can be associated with descriptive text and sent to an address provided by the viewer, either an e-mail address or an instant messaging address. Additionally, before the deep tag is created, it can be checked whether the content owner of the movie is known. If known, the content owner's rules, if any, regarding deep tagging are followed. If unknown, a set of registered content owners can be alerted of the presence of new content. When ownership of the new content is established, the already-created deep tags can be updated in accordance with the content owner's rules, if any, regarding deep tagging.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2021Date of Patent: July 5, 2022Assignee: Open Text SA ULCInventors: Thomas S.
