  • Patent number: 11356982
Abstract: A symbol mapping method for repetition coding is disclosed. The symbol mapping method comprises performing repetition coding on codeword to output repeated codeword symbols, and mapping the repeated codeword symbols with subcarriers located in different localized resource blocks. According to the embodiments of the present invention, it is possible to obtain maximum reliability in a receiving side by mapping codeword bits with subcarriers to reduce the number of bits having low reliability when a transmitting side uses repetition coding. Also, it is possible to improve decoding throughput and obtain channel diversity.

  • Patent number: 11310681
Abstract: A PDCP status report can be transmitted with reduced radio resources by transmitting the reception success or failure of a series of PDCP service data units (SDUs) in the form of a bitmap when configuring the PDCP status report. A PDCP control packet data unit (PDU) is generated to communicate a status report to a transmitting node for one or more PDCP SDUs transmitted from the transmitting node. The PDCP control PDU includes a data/control (D/C) bit field to indicate the PDCP control PDU is a control PDU, a control PDU type field to indicate a type of corresponding control information, a sequence number field to indicate a first missing PDCP SDU, and a bitmap field for a variable length bitmap. A bit in the variable length bitmap indicates whether a corresponding one of the one or more PDCP SDUs has been successfully been received.

  • Patent number: 11272449
Abstract: A random access channel (RACH) procedure includes a mobile terminal receiving from a network a message that indicates a RACH preamble for the mobile terminal. The terminal transmits the RACH preamble to the network and then receives a RACH response from the network. The terminal monitors a downlink channel according to a discontinuous reception (DRX) active time for radio resource allocation information for a data transmission by the terminal. The DRX active time specifies a time until the radio resource allocation information for the data transmission is indicated.

  • Patent number: 11160093
Abstract: Scheduling requests are transmitted from a mobile terminal to a base station. The mobile sends a first scheduling request to the base station, the first scheduling request being associated with first data to be transmitted to the base station. The mobile receives a scheduling grant from the base station in response to the first scheduling request and transmits a buffer status report to the base station in response to receiving the scheduling grant. An HARQ acknowledgment for the buffer status report is received. Second data is received for transmission to the base station while at least some of the first data is waiting to be transmitted to the base station. A change in a buffer status of the mobile terminal is detected indicating that the second data has higher priority than the first data. The mobile transmits a second subsequent scheduling request to the base station in response to the change in buffer status.

  • Patent number: 11139921
Abstract: A method is provided in a receiving node for handling status information of data units transmitted from a sending node to the receiving node over a radio link. The receiving node establishes that a number of data units that has been transmitted by the sending node are missing. The receiving node sends a reduced status message to the sending node over the radio link, which message is reduced such that it comprises the negative acknowledgement for a first part of missing data units and omits negative acknowledgements for the rest of the missing data units. The omitted negative acknowledgement for the rest of the missing data units will not erroneously be interpreted as correctly received data units by the sending node.

  • Patent number: 11032814
Abstract: A User Equipment (UE) monitors a set of Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) candidates for control information received from a base station at subframe k. The set of PDCCH candidates to monitor are defined in terms of search spaces. The UE monitors a UE-specific search space, among the search spaces, at each of aggregation levels (L) of 1, 2, 4 and 8 control channel elements (CCEs), the CCE being a resource unit comprising a specific number of resource elements and used for transmission of the control information. The L CCEs correspond to a first PDCCH candidate among the set of PDCCH candidates of the search space at a subframe k are located at positions given by: L*{(Yk)mod(floor(C))}+i, wherein i?0, . . . , L?1, where Yk is defined by: Yk?(A*Yk?1+B) mod D. The variable C is determined based on the number of CCEs (NCCE) divided by the aggregation level (L), and A, B, and D are predetermined constant values predetermined regardless of the aggregation levels L.

  • Patent number: 11012222
Abstract: A method for transmitting uplink signals, which include ACK/NACK signals, control signals other than the ACK/NACK signals, and data signals, is disclosed. The method comprises serially multiplexing the control signals and the data signals; sequentially mapping the multiplexed signals within a specific resource region in accordance with a time-first mapping method, the specific resource region including a plurality of symbols and a plurality of virtual subcarriers; and arranging the ACK/NACK signals at both symbols near symbols to which a reference signal of the plurality of symbols is transmitted. Thus, the uplink signals can be transmitted to improve receiving reliability of signals having high priority.

  • Patent number: 10917906
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) receives downlink data using resource blocks in a wireless mobile communication system. The UE receives downlink control information including resource allocation information and downlink data mapped to physical resource blocks (PRBs) based on the downlink control information. The resource allocation information indicates virtual resource block (VRB) allocations for the UE. Indexes of the PRBs to which the downlink data are mapped are determined based on a mapping relationship between virtual resource blocks (VRBs) and the PRBs. The mapping relationship is defined based on indexes of the VRBs which are mapped to the indexes of the PRBs for a first slot of a subframe and a second slot of the subframe. The indexes of the PRBs for the second slot are shifted with respect to the indexes of the PRBs for the first slot based on a predetermined gap. The mapping relationship includes a transformation of VRB indexes based on a matrix.

  • Patent number: 10757650
Abstract: A random access procedure between a mobile terminal and a network is performed based upon the characteristics of a RACH preamble transmitted by the terminal. A first type of random access preamble is selectable by the terminal from a set of random access preambles, and a second type of random access preamble is directly allocated to the terminal by the network. The network responds with a random access response. The terminal performs a discontinuous reception (DRX) operation that allows it to monitor a downlink control channel discontinuously. The DRX operation includes an active time period during which the terminal monitors the control channel after successful reception of the random access response for the second type of random access preamble until a transmission from the network addressed to a Cell-Radio Network Temporary Identifier (C-RNTI) associated with the terminal is received.

  • Patent number: 10631321
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) receives downlink data using resource blocks in a wireless mobile communication system. The UE receives downlink control information including resource allocation information and downlink data mapped to physical resource blocks (PRBs) based on the downlink control information. The resource allocation information indicates virtual resource block (VRB) allocations for the UE. A resource block pair includes a first resource block associated with a first time slot and a second resource block associated with a second time slot adjacent to the first time slot. The first and second resource blocks are allocated to the same frequency indices. A mapping between VRB pairs and PRB pairs exists such that frequency consecutive VRB pairs are mapped to non-frequency consecutive PRB pairs and that each resource block pair is split so there is a frequency gap between the first and second parts of the resource block pair.

  • Patent number: 10624081
Abstract: A User Equipment (UE) receives control information via a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) at subframe k. A decoder monitors a set of PDCCH candidates a UE-specific search space, among the search spaces, at each of aggregation levels (L) of 1, 2, 4 and 8 control channel elements (CCEs). The UE-specific search space is given based on a modulus operation using variables Yk and C for the subframe k. Yk is defined by: Yk=(A*Yk?1+B) mod D. C is determined based on the number of CCEs (NCCE) divided by the aggregation level (L). A, B, and D are predetermined constant values regardless of the aggregation levels (L). Y?1 is determined based on a UE identifier having 16-bits when k=0. The decoder decodes the control information of the PDCCH.
