  • Patent number: 11777796
Abstract: Techniques discussed herein relate to implementing a distributed computing cluster (the “cluster”) including a plurality of edge devices (e.g., devices individually configured to selectively execute within an isolated computing environment). One edge device may be configured to operate as a head node of the cluster at a given time. A request for virtual resources of the cluster may be received from a user device and directed to the first edge device of the cluster. The first edge device may determine it is not operating as a head node of the cluster. The first edge device may determine that a second edge device of the cluster is operating as the head node. In response, the first edge device may forward the request to the second edge device, wherein forwarding the request to the second edge device causes the second request to be processed by the cluster.

  • Patent number: 11768883
Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, described herein is a system and method for enabling in-place record content management. A records management agent within a content management system can communicate with a records management system in an asynchronous manner, such as in response to a request or prompt, or in combination with check-in of content into the content management system. The records management agent can fetch a records folders hierarchy from the records management system for use in selecting record policies to be applied to content. The records management agent can associate content with selected records folders within the records folders hierarchy, and can update metadata corresponding to the content. The records management agent can send the updated metadata to the records management system. In an embodiment, the records management agent can be provided as a reusable, pluggable component within an existing content management system.

  • Patent number: 11770451
Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, described herein are systems and methods for automatic block storage volume tuning by simulating usage characteristics for data/block volumes. The block storage performance associated with usage by a cloud instance of a block volume can be simulated, and the manner in which data is stored or cached, for example within a combination of SSD/NVMe block storage and/or HDD object storage, can be automatically adjusted, for example to associate the block volume with a particular volume performance tier. The described approach allows the system to tune block volume performance in a dynamic manner, without further manual input from a user—the volume performance can be automatically increased when the user needs it, and otherwise reduced down to save costs (both for the user and the cloud provider). A user can enable tuning on a particular block volume, and thereafter automatically receive appropriate price/performance characteristics.

  • Patent number: 11755337
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for managing dependencies in an orchestration service. A computer-implemented method can include operations performed by a declarative infrastructure provisioner (DIP). In some embodiments, the DIP parses configuration data associated with a computing system and generates a directed acyclic graph (DAG) for booting a first resource. The DAG may specify a dependency of the first resource on a capability of a second resource. The DIP may traverse the DAG and determine, based at least in part on the traversal, that the dependency has been reached. The DIP may publish, to a scheduling process, an indication that the first resource is awaiting availability of the capability of the second resource. In some embodiments, the DIP receives a subsequent indication that the capability is available, regenerates the DAG, and recommences traversal of the DAG. Additional operations for booting the first resource may be performed in accordance with the recommenced traversal.

  • Patent number: 11750590
Abstract: An access management system (AMS) is disclosed that includes SSO capabilities for providing users secure access to protected resources within an enterprise using encryption keys generated by a client application. The AMS receives a request from a client application for a user to access a protected resource. In certain examples, the request comprises a client application identifier, a session identifier and a client public encryption key. The AMS determines if the session identifier points to a valid session and upon determining that the session identifier corresponds to a valid session, transmits information associated with the valid session to the client application. In certain examples, the information associated with the valid session is encrypted using the client public encryption key. Based on information associated with the valid session received from the client application, the AMS determines whether to grant or deny a user access to a protected resource within the enterprise.

  • Patent number: 11740943
Abstract: Techniques for implementing an infrastructure orchestration service are described. In some examples, a declarative provisioner of the infrastructure orchestration service receives instructions for deployment of a resource. The declarative provisioner identifies that the deployment of the resource is a long-running task stores state information corresponding to the deployment of the resource. In certain embodiments, upon identifying that the deployment of the resource is a long-running task, the declarative provisioner pauses its execution of the long-running task. Responsive to a trigger received from the infrastructure orchestration service, the declarative provisioner resumes execution of the deployment of the resource using the state information and transmits deployment information corresponding to the deployment of the resource to the infrastructure orchestration service.

  • Patent number: 11741120
Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, described herein are systems and methods for providing a remote data gateway that supports peer routing for use with an analytics environment. In accordance with an embodiment, a data analytics remote data gateway server connects to on-premise data clients, via remote data gateway agents. If a remote data gateway server cannot reach a particular data client at its remote data gateway agent, then it can determine which other clients it can get requests from. To address this, the system can use a process of inverse proxy peer-to-peer routing—if a client has a request to be processed, but the server has not yet called into that client, then the client can hand off the request to a peer remote data gateway server, and the server can retrieve/process that request from that server operating as a proxy.

  • Patent number: 11741415
Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, described herein is a system and method for providing key performance indicator (KPI) customization in an analytic applications environment, which enables data analytics within the context of an organization's enterprise software application or data environment, or a software-as-a-service or other type of cloud or computing environment. The system supports customization derived from multiple layers which, in aggregate, can yield a customized performance metric or KPI object. In accordance with an embodiment, the system supports a user interface with icons that describe original (e.g., out-of-the-box or factory) KPIs and user-modified KPIs. When a user modifies an original KPI object to create a customized KPI, its icon is changed to visibly indicate that the user has modified the KPI. The customized KPI can be used within KPI decks, cards, dashboards, or other types of visualizations; while retaining a lineage to the original KPI object.
