    Abstract: A heater is adapted to provide heat for heating a room by effecting heat exchange in a heat section which is between combustion and ventilation sections. The heat exchange section comprises a rotary body positioned across the combustion and ventilation sections so as to rotate at that position. The rotary body has air flow passages extending in the same direction as the axis of rotation of the rotary body. The heater can effect heat exchange with an increased efficiency and also can prevent the interior of the room from being abnormally dried.

    Abstract: An improved coupling for a corrugated conduit includes a main tubular body with a sleeve defining a conduit receiving bore terminating at its inner end in an annular shoulder projecting radially inwardly of the tubular body. A nipple clamps the end portion of the conduit and is inserted together therewith into the conduit receiving bore where it is pressed forwardly by rotating a nut threaded on the sleeve for forcing the end of the conduit into pressing contact with the shoulder. The nipple is externally shaped to have a polygonal configuration so as to be slidably but unrotatably inserted in the correspondingly shaped conduit receiving bore, preventing the conduit from being twisted during the securing operation of rotating the nut about the sleeve.

A flow rate indicating device is provided to derive flow rates from signals received from the sensors and indicate the flow rates.

The control mechanism is operable to open the valve to a certain extent and actuate an ignition device at the same time upon a predetermined time lapse after blower actuation, to stop the ignition device and open the valve at a predetermined speed at the same time in response to an ignition confirmation signal from the flame monitoring sensor, and to stop the blower in response to a signal from the air pressure sensor indicating that the generator is in self-sustaining operation.

Since electric current is propagated through the ground via the coating layer of the wire upon supply of high frequency power to the wire, it becomes possible to detect from the ground surface the location of the continuous length item in the event that the wire is cut.

The air ratio is calculated from the values of the flow rate of of air, the oxygen concentration and flow rate of the combustion fuel. The amount of air drawn by the vacuum pump is controlled so that the actual air ratio is equal to an predetermined air ratio.
