Abstract: A mobile-based equipment service system includes a remote server, a mobile device, and at least one equipment controller. The mobile device includes a user interface, and is configured to send a user authentication message, initiated by a user via the user interface, to the remote server. The remote server is configured to verify the user via the user authentication message and once verified, send an encrypted blob to the mobile device in response to the user authentication message. At least one equipment controller is configured to receive and decrypt the encrypted blob from the mobile device.

Abstract: A system and a method are provided for damping vertical oscillations of an elevator car hovering at an elevator landing. The system includes a sensor, a controller and an elevator machine connected to a traction sheave. The sensor is adapted to provide a sensor signal indicative of rotation of the traction sheave, wherein the rotation of the traction sheave corresponds to the vertical oscillations of the hovering elevator car. The controller is adapted to provide a control signal based on the sensor signal. The elevator machine is adapted to reduce the vertical oscillations of the hovering elevator car by controlling the rotation of the traction sheave based on the control signal.

The system includes a sensor device that captures a data signal of a user and detects a gesture input from the user from the data signal, wherein a user location can be calculated based on a sensor location of the sensor device in a building and the collected data signal of the user, a signal processing device that generates a control signal based on the gesture input and the user location, and in-building equipment that receives the control signal from the signal processing device and controls the in-building equipment based on the control signal.

Abstract: The disclosure herein includes a method for controlling elevators by an intelligent building system. The method includes receiving, by the intelligent building system, elevator calls initiated by passengers. Each elevator call can include a passenger identification corresponding to a passenger initiating the elevator call. The method further includes procuring passenger preference information based on the passenger identifications in response to the elevator calls and grouping the passengers with respect to the passenger preference information to produce passenger groups. The method further includes controlling the elevators to collect the passenger groups.

The bore is configured to fluid couple the input opening to each of the lubricant outlets. Each lubricant outlet is associated with and configured to provide lubricant to at least one of the plurality of output openings at a distinct position of the valve stem. The lubrication system may include multiple lubricant distributors connected by a lubrication fluid circuit having a pump, motor and lubricant source.
Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of passenger conveyor technologies, and provides an engaging state detection system of a passenger conveyor and a detection method thereof. In the engaging state detection system and detection method of the present invention, a depth sensing sensor is used to sense at least an engaging portion between a step and a comb plate of the passenger conveyor to obtain depth maps, and the depth maps are analyzed by a processing apparatus to detect whether an engaging state between the step and the comb plate is a normal state. The detection of the engaging state includes detection on whether comb teeth of the comb plate are broken, whether engaging teeth of the step are broken, and/or whether a foreign matter exists on an engaging line.

Abstract: An illustrative method of making an elevator load bearing member having at least one elongated tension member at least partially covered by a jacket includes mixing a flame retardant with a polymer material. The flame retardant is selected from a group consisting of (i) a halogen-free melamine based intumescent comprising melamine cyanurate, melamine-phosphate, melamine pyrophosphate or melamine polyphosphate in an amount up to about 20% by weight of the thermoplastic polymer or (ii) a filled polymer having a nanoscale filler chemically bonded to a matrix phase. Applying the mixed flame retardant and polymer material to the tension member forms a jacket of a desired shape.

Abstract: A safety system for use in a drive system includes first and second safety sensors that provide respective first and second sensor signals indicative of a safety condition of the drive system. The safety system includes a safety device that processes the first and second sensor signals to determine a safety state of the drive system, and that controls a unit of the drive system based on the safety state. The safety device includes a multi-core processor having first and second processing cores. In some embodiments, the first and second processing cores receive and process the respective first and second sensor signals in parallel to determine the safety state. In other embodiments, each of the first and second processing cores receive both the first and second sensor signals, and each of the first and second processing cores process both the first and second sensor signals to determine the safety state.
Abstract: A tension member termination device optimized for terminating flat tension members having compressible outer coatings, the device including a wedge and a socket each having cooperating surfaces positioned at a predetermined angle for clamping the tension member therebetween. The angle reliably secures the tension member while avoiding deleterious pressure and stress upon the tension member. The invention also provides a safety clamp for optional use with the tension member termination device.
