Abstract: A package for multi-instance photosensitive authentication includes a container, and a photochromic material non-removably carried by the container and irreversibly changeable upon exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light. The package also includes a UV protector carried over the photochromic material to protect the photochromic material from premature exposure to the UV light, and having multiple portions that are removable to expose multiple portions of the photochromic material to UV light and are irreplaceable once removed.
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring speed, the length and elongation of a molten glass gob travelling along a defined path includes at least two optical detectors. A mask having at least two openings through which light passes to each of the optical detectors is disposed adjacent the optical detectors. A lens receives light from the moving glass gob and focuses such light through the openings of the mask. Electronics are coupled to each of the optical detectors for determining the speed of the molten glass gob as a function of timing of light sensed at the optical detectors. In exemplary embodiments of the disclosure, the optical detectors is disposed within the image plane of the lens and comprise different portions of a single light sensing device.
Abstract: A glassware-forming neck ring system includes a neck ring assembly and a carrier assembly carrying the neck ring assembly. The neck ring assembly includes a neck ring guide having a first forming aperture therethrough around a vertical axis, and a neck ring divided along a longitudinal axis into neck ring sections carried by the neck ring guide and movable toward and away from one another along the neck ring guide along a lateral axis. The carrier assembly includes a carrier having a body with a second forming aperture therethrough, longitudinally opposite ends, laterally opposite sides between the ends, and a channel extending between the sides, restricting movement of the neck ring assembly along the vertical and longitudinal axes, and permitting movement of the neck ring assembly along the lateral axis.
Abstract: A glass bottle includes a body having a closed end, a shoulder spaced from the end, a neck extending from the shoulder, and a neck finish at an end of the neck for attachment of a closure, characterized in that the neck finish and at least a portion of the neck adjacent to the neck finish have non-circular internal surfaces.
Abstract: A glass container and related methods of manufacturing and coating glass containers. The glass container includes an inorganic-organic hybrid coating over at least a portion of an exterior surface of a glass substrate.

Abstract: A product includes a container, a photosensitive material carried by the container and responsive to ultraviolet light, and a UV protector carried by the container to protect the photosensitive material from exposure to UV light. A method of producing a food or beverage container includes applying a photochromic material to a food or beverage container that is responsive to ultraviolet (UV) light so as to darken upon exposure thereto, and protecting at least a portion of the photochromic material from exposure to UV light.

Abstract: A bottle extends along a longitudinal axis and includes an insulative body extending axially between a base and a neck of the bottle. The body includes radially outwardly facing first surfaces spaced axially apart from one another, and a radially outwardly facing second surface radially smaller than, and located axially between, the first surfaces. The body also includes a plurality of projections projecting from the second surface and collectively establishing a radially outwardly facing third surface radially larger than the second surface, and parting line bridges projecting radially outwardly from the second surface, diametrically opposed to one another, and extending axially between the first surfaces. A label is carried by the body over at least a portion of the third surface, wherein a continuous insulation volume is established between the label and the second surface, and extends continuously over more than 90 angular degrees around the bottle.
Abstract: An apparatus and process for making glass and glass gobs on demand. A sheet of molten glass is provided in a staging section. The sheet of molten glass is held within the staging section when there is no demand for glass articles. When there is a demand for production of glass articles, a portion of the sheet of molten glass is flowed into a gob forming section.
Abstract: A glass container and related methods of manufacturing a glass container. A solution having a composition including a silane, a solvent, a catalyst, and water, is applied to an exterior glass surface of the glass container, at an application temperature between 5 and 40 degrees Celsius, such that the solution at least partially fills the surface imperfections to provide a room-temperature-curable cold-end coating on the glass container. Then, the applied solution is allowed to cure on the exterior glass surface of the glass container, at a curing temperature between 5 and 40 degrees Celsius.

Abstract: A container may include a wall and a medal retained to the wall by container material of integral one-piece construction with the wall and extending over at least a portion of the medal. The medal and one or more portions of the container adjacent the medal have a shared unique appearance. A package may include a flaccid loop coupled between a closure and a container to which the closure is coupled, and a medal coupled to the flaccid loop.
