  • Patent number: 7631825
Abstract: An apparatus for comminuting large pieces of cuttable material, particularly bales of rubber, is provided. The apparatus includes a first comminuting stage for carrying out a pre-comminuting, and a second comminuting stage for carrying out a fine comminuting, whereby the second comminuting stage includes a comminuting system that rotates around an axis of rotation, to which the material is conveyed via a supply channel. The first comminuting stage is integrated in the supply channel to the second comminuting stage. In this way, a largely even feeding of material to the second comminuting stage can be achieved so that comparatively low machine performances are sufficient and the performance capacity of the second comminuting stage can be better utilized.

  • Patent number: 7510133
Abstract: An apparatus for comminuting material is provided. The apparatus includes two disks, which are arranged coaxially to one another inside a housing that encloses a comminuting room. The rim areas of the disks are positioned opposite one another, thus forming a milling gap, and are provided with interacting comminuting tools. To generate a mutual relative movement of the disks, at least one of the disks carries out a rotational motion around the mutual axis. To comminute the material, it is first fed into the comminuting room and subsequently radially channeled to the milling gap. For additional cooling, the disk on the intake side is arranged at an axial distance to the intake side of the housing front wall, thus forming a ringwheel-shaped cool air conduit. This can be charged with cool air, which flows through the conduit in a radial direction. In this way, the machine capacity can be increased without causing thermal damage to the material to be processed.

  • Patent number: 7364100
Abstract: An apparatus for comminuting material includes two disks arranged coaxially to one another inside a housing that encloses a comminuting room. At least part of the opposing surfaces of the disks are provided with interacting comminuting tools thus forming a comminuting zone, whereby at least one of the disks rotates around a mutual axis to generate a relative movement of the disks. • Patent number: 7070135
Abstract: A chipping apparatus includes a housing arranged about an axis of rotation and a chipping system within the housing rotating in a predefined direction about an axis of rotation. The chipping system has chipping tools that form a circular or ring-shaped chipping zone. The housing is divided into the sectors I, II, III and IV in the direction of rotation, with a material outlet being arranged in sector I. The axis of rotation of the chipping system is arranged eccentrically, with respect to a central axis of the housing, in the region of sector I or II. In this way, a uniformly widening flow channel is produced between the chipping tools and the housing, even when the housing is circular in cross-section. The constant volume increase in the flow channel toward the material outlet prevents an increasing material density, which can cause blockages in the material flow.

  • Publication number: 20060017190
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for producing woodfuel briquettes, pellets, compounds, composites, agglomerates, or granulates as source material for subsequent processing in injection molding or extrusion processes, includes a pressing screw with screw spirals, which rotate around a longitudinal axis and which are arranged inside a screw shell. The feed material is conveyed to the pressing screw via a feed chute located at an input side. At the end of the pressing screw, processing tools are arranged, to which the feed material is conveyed by the rotating screw spirals. In the area of the processing tools, the residual moisture in the feed material evaporates due to the heat generated during the processing procedure, and is vented as a steam flow from the apparatus through the screw shell.

  • Patent number: 6726135
Abstract: A device for comminuting feed material has a rotary blade ring rotating about an axis of rotation. A comminution chamber is enclosed by the rotary blade ring and receives the feed material in an axial direction parallel to the axis of rotation. A counter abutment projects in the axial direction into the comminution chamber. The rotary blade ring is moveable in a radial advancing direction against the counter abutment and applies a pressing force relative to the counter abutment to effect comminution of the feed material in a working position of the counter abutment. The counter abutment has an effective surface facing the feed material and the effective surface is supported so as to be moveable such that, upon surpassing a predetermined value of the pressing force, at least the effective surface performs an escape movement relative to the rotary blade ring in an escape direction.

  • Patent number: 6554032
Abstract: An apparatus for slicing elongate fibrous material has a slicing device having an axis of rotation about which the slicing device rotates during operation. The slicing device has slicing tools with a blade carrier and a blade unit. The blade units have cutting blade edges that together define a common cutting surface. The elongate fibrous material is fed in slicing cycles in the direction of its longitudinal extension to the blade units. Slicing is carried out parallel to the fiber orientation by realizing a relative movement between the elongate fibrous material and the blade units transverse to the fiber orientation. The slicing tools have an end face with a receptacle extending parallel to the end face. The slicing tools have a cutting element arranged in the receptacle. The cutting element performs a separating cut in a direction transverse to the fiber orientation in the separating plane between two slicing cycles.

  • Patent number: 6431477
Abstract: A gas-flow type chipping machine with a rotating beater-wheel system. In order to chip the feed material, this material is delivered axially into the central area of the beater wheel, where it is deflected and moved in a radial direction to the chipper tools that are arranged in a circle around the beater wheel. In order to ensure that the wear is even along the length of the chipper tools, at least two impact surfaces are arranged so as to be axially staggered to the depth of the chipping space, the impact surface that follows in the axial direction of delivery projecting beyond the axial projection of the preceding impact surface.
