  • Patent number: 8711706
Abstract: A protocol delay measuring device prevents an increase of the processing overhead of a communication terminal attributed to a protocol delay measurement. The measuring device determines the protocol delay by using first and second timestamps created respectively before and after a processed packet is obtained from an unprocessed packet by IPsec processing by the communication terminal. An acknowledges creates an identifier of the unprocessed packet. A timestamp database stores the created identifier along with the first timestamp and writes the identifier in a storage where the identifier is kept the same before and after the IPsec processing by the communication terminal. A correlator reads the identifier from the storage and extracts the first timestamp stored along with the same identifier as the read identifier in the timestamp database. A calculator calculates the difference between the extracted first timestamp and the second timestamp as the protocol delay.

  • Patent number: 8711255
Abstract: A visual processing apparatus comprises a spatial processing unit and a visual processing unit. The spatial processing unit is operable to perform a predetermined process to an inputted image signal using surrounding pixels of a target pixel and output an processed signal. The visual processing unit is operable to input the inputted image signal and the processed signal and output an output signal that is visual-processed. The visual processing unit has a property in which, in an area where a value of the image signal is almost equal to a value of the processed signal, a proportion of a change of the output signal to a change of the inputted image signal when the processed signal is fixed to a predetermined level is greater than the proportion when the image signal is equal to the processed signal.

Abstract: A lighting system includes an EL unit having a light emitter, a holding frame that holds the EL unit, and a control unit that controls lighting of the EL unit, wherein the holding frame includes a rail-shaped conductive member, and power and communication signals are transmitted between the control unit and the EL unit through the conductive member. With this configuration, since the connection between the control unit and the EL unit is made by the conductive member provided on the holding frame, which holds the EL unit, space for wiring in a residential space can be reduced. Further, simply by placing the holding frame on a mounting surface and attaching the EL unit and the control unit to the holding frame, they are connected. Therefore, without special skills, a resident can install the lighting system as appropriate and can easily replace the EL unit.
