  • Patent number: 8705655
Abstract: In a mobile communication system with uncorrelated channel characteristics, transmission using modulation of data symbols with repetition can improve the performance. However, mapping of the original and the repeated symbols into the physical resources may on the other hand reduce a desired level of diversity when the original and the corresponding repeated symbols map on the physical resources close to each other. The present invention provides a method for transmission, a transmitter, a method for receiving, and a receiver capable of efficiently transmit/receive data symbols with an increased level of diversity. This is achieved by grouping of portions of the original and the corresponding data symbols and by mapping the portions of the original and the corresponding data symbols into the different physical resource blocks.

  • Patent number: 8705492
Abstract: A MIMO receiving apparatus that can demodulate a spatially multiplexed signal without using any division operation requiring a large quantity of operation resources. In the MIMO receiving apparatus, stream separation section (105) separates a spatially multiplexed signal into a plurality of streams based on numerator submatrix A. Numerator submatrix A is determined according to channel matrix H and a canceller scheme and corresponds to a numerator of stream separation matrix S that equalizes the phase and amplitude of the spatially multiplexed signal. Denominator part calculation section (108) calculates a denominator (denominator coefficient) of stream separation matrix S and correction section (117) corrects a threshold determined according to a modulation scheme of the spatially multiplexed signal using the denominator (denominator coefficient) of stream separation matrix S.

  • Patent number: 8704226
Abstract: A chip is layered on a rewiring member. A plurality of connecting members and a plurality of redundant connecting members are arranged in the chip, and electrically connect the chip to the rewiring member. Redundant circuits are embedded in each of the rewiring member and the chip. When one of the connecting members is faulty, the redundant circuits cause one of the redundant connecting members to transmit a signal between the rewiring member and the chip, instead of the faulty connecting member. The connecting members have first and second subsets arranged in first and second regions, respectively. A distance between the rewiring member and the chip exceeds a predetermined threshold value in the first region in contrast to the second region. The first subset has a higher proportion of connecting members that the redundant circuits can replace with a subset of the redundant connecting members than the second subset.
