Abstract: To ensure reliable electric contact, a discharge lamp has a tubular lamp vessel (1), a lamp base (4) and lamp electrodes (2, 3) which are applied to the wall of the lamp vessel (1) and in each case have an electrode section (20, 30) which is arranged outside the interior (11) of the lamp vessel (1) and serves as supply lead. The electric base contacts (5, 6) are connected in each case to an electrically conductive spring element (8, 9), each spring element (8, 9) bearing against the wall of the at least one tubular lamp vessel (1) and making an electric contact between in each case one electrode section (20, 30), arranged outside the lamp vessel (1), and a base contact (5, 6).
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a discharge lamp, which is preferably designed for dielectric barrier discharges. The innovation is that a frame is used in order to set, and secure in its position, an electrode running at a distance from the vessel faces in the discharge vessel of the discharge lamp. This frame is simultaneously used as an exhaust tube.
Abstract: The discharge spacings in discharge lamps for dielectrically impeded discharges are shortened below 3 mm, as a result of which dead times of pulsed active-power injecting can be increased so strongly, for example beyond 50 ms, that the dimming properties of the discharge lamp are greatly improved.
Abstract: A flat illumination device (1), includes a base plate and a front plate which are connected to form an at least partially transparent vessel which, in its interior, has an ionizable fill. In a partial region of the vessel, at least one of the two plates is at least in part provided with a mirror surface. An unmirrored partial region (12) of the vessel is designed to realize an illumination function.
Abstract: An electric lamp, in particular a motor vehicle auxiliary light lamp, and a method for producing such a lam. The base of the lamp comprises an annular metal part (5) or resilient design for holding the lamp vessel (1), and a plastic part (6) provided with at least one hollow contact pin (7, 8). A supply lead (3, 4) projecting from the lamp vessel (1) is threaded into the hollow contact pin (7, 8) and welded to the latter such that the metal part (5) is under mechanical stress. In this way, backlash-free plug-and-socket connections are produced between the lamp vessel (1) and the metal part (5) or between the metal part (5) and the plastic part (6).
Abstract: The invention relates to a flat gas discharge lamp having a discharge vessel and electrodes, the discharge vessel comprising a base plate (1) and a top plate (7) and having at least one spacer element (8) between base plate (1) and top plate (7). Spacer elements usually disrupt the homogeneity of the luminance distribution on the top plate 7. In order to avoid this, the spacer elements (8) are additionally configured as dielectrically impeded electrodes. For this purpose, each spacer element (8) has an electrically conductive component (9) connected to an electrode or current feed. As a result, the spacer elements (8) are actively involved in the discharge and, consequently, in the production of light.

Abstract: The compact low-pressure discharge lamp (1) has a wound tubular discharge vessel (2) with at least four straight tubes (6, 7) which are in a polygonal arrangement and, close to or at the ends of the straight tubes (6, 7), are connected by transverse connections (8, 10, 11) to form a single continuous discharge path which is closed off in a gastight manner. A coil spring (14) made from metal, which runs parallel to the tubes (6, 7) is arranged in the center of the cylindrical cavity (13) formed by the straight tubes (6, 7) of the discharge vessel (2). The coil spring (14) reduces the firing voltage required.
Abstract: Appliance for discharge lamps, which has a load circuit with a resonance point at a resonant frequency fres. In order to start the discharge lamps, the load circuit is fed with a square-wave source voltage Uq, whose period duration Tper multiplied by the resonant frequency fres of the load circuit produces approximately a natural number n which is greater than 1. The pulse duration Tpulse at the source voltage Uq is in a range which is described by the following condition:
0.

Abstract: In a novel method in the field of the production of discharge vessels, in particular for silent flat radiators, an exhaust tube 3 for evacuating and filling is inserted into an opening 2 in the discharge vessel, it being possible in a simple way by means of an adapter 4 to achieve optimum fitting and sealing between a square inner cross section of the opening 2 and a round outer cross section of the exhaust tube 3.
Abstract: A gas discharge lamp having a discharge vessel, for example composed of a base plate, front plate (2) and frame (3), has at least one closure element (6) which closes a discharge vessel opening in a gas-tight fashion by virtue of the fact that the closure element (6) was inserted into the discharge vessel opening and subsequently fused. The closure element (6) consists of a material which is low-melting by comparison with the remainder of the discharge vessel, for example sintered glass. It is possible to dispense with an additional connecting means between the closure element (6) and the adjacent wall of the discharge vessel (2).
Abstract: The present invention relates to a synchronous rectifier circuit having a transformer (Ü) in single-phase center-tap connection. MOSFETs containing a body diode are used as switches. The MOSFETs are connected up in such a way that a current flows only from source to drain. The channel of the MOSFETs is always switched on if current would flow through the body diode.
Abstract: The discharge tube (1) of a dielectric barrier discharge lamp is closed off in a gas-tight manner with the aid of a disk-like closure element (7) but without the use of joining elements. For this purpose, the discharge tube (1) has a constriction (10), which surrounds the edge of the disk-like closure element (7) in the form of a ring.
Abstract: Electronic transformers with a self-excited half bridge can be destroyed by high-voltage pulses from the mains supply lead. This can happen by the high-voltage pulse initiating a starting operation which leads to cross currents. This destruction mechanism is suppressed by specifically discharging a starting capacitor.
Abstract: An electronic converter having an input circuit and an output circuit which, in addition to the converter function, carries out power-factor correction. A control circuit opens and closes an electronic switch as a function of the output voltage from the converter circuit and the voltage which is dropped across a current measurement sensor. The circuit has a logic ground LM and a power ground PM at different electrical potentials.

Abstract: A method for recycling thoriated tungsten objects such as thoriated tungsten scrap resulting from the fabrication of electrodes for lamps. The thoriated tungsten objects are oxidized, homogenized by mixing and chemically reduced under a hydrogen gas atmosphere to form thoriated tungsten. This method eliminates the need to separate the tungsten from its dopants. The thoriated tungsten obtained as the end product is returned to the production process and is preferably used as a raw material for the production of welding electrodes or thoriated tungsten discharge lamp electrodes.
