Patent number: 10772671Abstract: Cold atmospheric plasma is an emerging technology in the treatment of cancer. Meanwhile, different types of self-organized pattern (SOP) phenomenon have been reported in a wide of range of plasmas. In this paper, we describe the application of SOP plasma to two breast cancer cells MDA-MB-231 and MCF-7. Specifically, the effect of SOP plasma on reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS) were investigated. SOP plasma-generated RONS displayed significantly decreased cancer cell viability in both breast cancer cell lines; significantly inhibiting cell proliferation via while inducing apoptosis. SOP plasma induced DNA damage, activating the ATM/ATR kinase signaling cascade. ATR phosphorylates the checkpoint effector kinase Chk-1 activating ?-H2AX resulting in cell cycle arrest and ATM induced apoptosis.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2019Date of Patent: September 15, 2020Assignee: US Patent Innovations, LLCInventors: Zhitong Chen, Jerome Canady, Michael Keidar

Patent number: 10639066Abstract: A system for controlling displacement of an intervention device having an end for inserting in a patient body, including a base in a fixed position relative to the patient. A first portion has an arc member and is pivotally mounted on the base around a first axis (A1). A second portion includes a support member and a carrier member. The support member partially rotates around a second axis (A2). A third portion includes a holding member, and a sliding member mounted on the support member along a translation axis (AT). The holding member is arranged so that translation of the sliding member causes the intervention device to translate along a third axis (A3). The third axis (A3) is parallel to and offset from the translation axis (AT). When the carrier member is positioned halfway of the arc member, the first (A1), second (A2) and third (A3) axes are orthogonal.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 2014Date of Patent: May 5, 2020Assignee: US Patent Innovations, LLCInventors: Clement Vidal, Berengere Bardou
