Abstract: A system is presented that enhances mail security and logistics. The system in certain example embodiments provides image capturing units to capture images of both the user and the items being mailed and tracks the items while maintaining some identity of the individual mailing the item. The system can in certain example embodiments perform facial recognition on the user and/or optical character recognition on the items being mailed in order to enhance the security of the mailing process.

Abstract: Certain example embodiments of this invention relate to systems and/or methods for stimulating the brain, e.g., to promote learning and/or memory, to provide therapeutic treatments thereto, etc. In certain example embodiments, neurons are monitored and their activities are analyzed to determine the electrical and electrochemical pathways that are activated during specific learning functions, events, etc. Given an established mapping, certain example embodiments deliver electrical and electrochemical signals to specifically targeted brain locations in order to facilitate learning and/or memory, to provide therapeutic treatments thereto, etc. For example, neurons or gateways thereto may be stimulated to facilitate learning, memory and/or recall, to counteract or mitigate the onset or arrival of mental or neurological diseases and disorders, etc.

Abstract: A system is presented that improves current medical imaging analysis systems. The system acquires medical image data of a patient and links the medical image data to the patient's personal information and the particular drugs a patient is using for treating a clinically diagnosed illness. The system can then associate the information and attempt to match it to information stored in a medical imaging database to help the medical personnel diagnose the patient's illness and determine which drugs are likely to help the patient or likely to have certain side effects on the patient.

The fluid separation and delivery apparatus for the method comprises a filter device having an inlet port for connecting to a fluid source, a first outlet port for directing filtrate to a first destination, and a second outlet port for directing decantate to a second destination.

Abstract: An apparatus for separating magnetic particles from a fluid, the apparatus comprising a tubular housing comprising an interior surface, an exterior surface, a first inlet port, a first outlet port, a second outlet port, and a channel; a tubular filter medium disposed within the tubular housing and comprising an inner surface and an outer surface, the filter medium partitioning the channel into a first passageway between the first inlet port of the tubular housing and the second outlet port of the tubular housing, and a second passageway in communication with the first outlet port of the tubular housing; and a wire coil wound around the exterior surface of the tubular housing, the wire coil comprising a first lead and a second lead. In operation, the wire coil is connected to a direct current power supply to effect enhanced separation of magnetic particles from a flowing fluid stream.
