Abstract: An improved mounting bracket that provides an indication to an installer when a mount is not correctly aligned. The mounting bracket comprises a mounting contact portion and at least one side portion integrally connected to the mounting contact portion, with the at least one side portion defining a receiving region for accepting one or more retaining portions of a mount. The at least one side portion includes a first ramped surface at least partially outside of the receiving region. The first ramped surface configured to contact a retaining portion when the retaining portion is misaligned with the receiving region, thereby informing an installer of the misalignment.

Abstract: An improved adjustable mounting system for mounting a flat panel display to a surface. A mounting bracket is configured to attach to the surface, while an adapter bracket is operatively connected to the mounting bracket and is configured to operatively connect to the flat panel display. At least one carrier mechanism operatively connects the mounting bracket and the adapter bracket, the first carrier mechanism positioned with a set of substantially straight guide paths or surfaces to couple the adapter bracket to the mounting bracket. When the flat panel display is operatively connected to the adapter bracket and the mounting bracket is attached to the surface, the flat panel display is generally selectively rotatably positionable about an axis substantially parallel to the surface as a result of the interaction of the first carrier mechanism with the set of substantially straight guide paths or surfaces.
Abstract: A mounting system for mounting a plurality of devices to a surface, including an overhead surface. According to various embodiments, a support arm is configured to operatively attach to a mounting surface and is operatively connected to a plurality of device support assemblies that include a mount bracket a selectively moveable tilt bracket. A device support member is operatively coupled to the tilt brackets and configured to operatively attach to at least one display device such as a flat panel display. The device support member, and attached devices, are selectively tiltable to a tilt angle.
Abstract: An improved system for securing a display device mounting bracket to a surface mounting bracket in a mounting system. A fastener connects to a movable extension component that is movably engaged with the device mounting bracket. When a device mounting bracket has been correctly positioned relative to the surface mounting bracket, the movable extension component is moved until a portion of the surface mounting bracket is positioned between the device mounting bracket and the movable extension component, thereby preventing the device mounting bracket from moving away from the surface mounting bracket.

Abstract: A vertical adjustment feature for a mounting system, such as a mounting system with a single articulating arm. A tool such as a hex wrench is used to rotate an adjustment bolt, which is threadedly engaged with a threaded nut. An axle is slidably received within a support arm end. Slots are positioned on the left and right sides near the top end of the primary axle. The primary axle slides up and down within the support arm end in conjunction with rotation of the adjustment bolt, enabling an associated flat panel television or other display device to move upwards or downwards relative to a wall or other support surface.
Abstract: A dual arm articulating mounting system including a vertical adjustment feature. The vertical adjustment feature comprises a bracket that is secured to a rotation box and supports a bolt. The bolt goes through a support plate, with the support plate including at least two holes with bushings inserted therein. The bushings act as guides along smaller-diameter inside tubes while positioning the mount in the vertical position. A nut is threaded onto the bolt on the top side of the plate. As the nut is turned, the rotation box and the television or display device is raised or lowered under its own weight.
