The SCA connector is juxtaposed perpendicularly with a first face of a planar printed circuit board. A narrow width for the printed circuit board permits a disk drive mated with the adapter to fit within a space in a digital computer system adapted to receive a peripheral device. The system may further include a circuit which effects copying of data from the master media to the copy media while concurrently preventing conventional direct access to devices that contain the media. The test subject focuses a test eye on the fixation target and positions the test eye a sufficient separation distance from the fixation target and aligns the test eye relative to said fixation target so that the test subject's central and peripheral visual health can be tested. Additional marks are presented on the planar surface for detection by said test subject using the peripheral vision of the test eye. The additional marks are primarily the same level of black-white contrast as the planar surface but different in hue to create color contrast symbols, and are presented within the field of vision of an eye not afflicted with the disease for which testing is being conducted. Patent number: 6261448Abstract: Described is an oil filtration apparatus that includes external vanes 120 and associated outer flow passages 140 for allowing a heat exchange to occur between oil passing therein and cool air that passes by the vanes. A manually rotatable valve 154 is provided at one end of the filtration apparatus for controlling the flow of oil through the manifold. In a first position, the valve allows oil to flow through the outer flow passages through the end cap 152 and into an inner flow passage 142 where it is filtered before flowing through a central passage 134 and out the flow manifold. In a second position, the outer flow passages are blocked so that oil flows directly into the inner flow passage. The recorder also pre-masters the data for recording onto optical-recording media using an optical-disk recorder included in the recorder. A pair of voltage controlled liquid crystal lenses (14, 16) are mounted in a support frame (12) which is worn by a user in the same manner as conventional eyeglasses. The lenses (14, 16) can be electronically pulsed between an opaque state and a transparent state. Further, the lenses (14, 16) scatter background light in their opaque state rather than block the light so as to provide a generally constant level of contrast and brightness. This prevents pupil dilation changes when switching between the transparent state and the opaque state. Each lens can be made to pulse from an opaque state to a transparent state and then back again, and can be controlled independently or in synchronization. In operation, the user adjusts the control unit (18) to pulse the lenses (14, 16) at a high speed.
