  • Patent number: 8309795
Abstract: A method for the secretory production of a glycoprotein having a human-type sugar chain, comprising a step of introducing a gene of an enzyme capable of performing a transfer reaction of a galactose residue to a non-reducing terminal acetylglucosamine residue, and a gene of heterologous glycoprotein, to obtain a transformed plant cell, a step of culturing the plant cell, and a step of recovering the culture medium of the plant cell.

  • Patent number: 8241909
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a glycoprotein having a human-type sugar chain comprising a step in which transformed plant cell is obtained by introducing to a plant cell the gene of glycosyltransfetase and the gene of an exogenous glycoprotein, and a step in which the obtained transformed plant cell is cultivated.

  • Patent number: 8106169
Abstract: This invention provides for the plant production of immunoglobulins, wherein at least a portion of the glycans attached to the immunoglobulins lack fucose. The invention also provides the constructs; plasmids; vectors; transformed plant cells, transformed plant calli; transformed plant tissues (e.g., leaves, seeds, tubers, etc.); transformed whole plants used to produce such immunoglobulins; methods of producing the immunoglobulins; the immunoglobulins produced by the disclosed methods; and the use of such immunoglobulins.

  • Publication number: 20110086397
Abstract: This invention provides methods whereby taxol, baccatin III, and other taxol-like compounds, or taxanes, can be produced in very high yield from all known Taxus species, e.g., brevifolia, canadensis, cuspidata, baccata, globosa, floridana, wallichiana, media and chinensis. Particular modifications of culture conditions (i.e., media composition and operating modes) have been discovered to enhance the yield of various taxanes from cell culture of all species of Taxus. Particularly preferred enhancement agents include silver ion or complex, jasmonic acid (especially the methyl ester), auxin-related growth regulators, and inhibitors of the phenylpropanoid pathway, such as 3,4-methylenedioxy-6-nitrocinnamic acid. These enhancement agents may be used alone or in combination with one another or other yield-enhancing conditions. While the yield of taxanes from plant cell culture of T.

  • Patent number: 7897796
Abstract: This invention is directed to a method for isolating and/or purifying one or more taxanes from materials comprising taxanes. In one embodiment, the method comprises the steps of: (a) treating a taxane containing material with an amino containing material attached to a solid matrix, such as a polyethyleneimine-bonded silica chromatographic resin; (b) eluting the desired taxane compound from the resin; and (c) recovering the eluted taxane compound.

  • Publication number: 20100145080
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of crystallizing a taxane comprising combining the taxane and methylene chloride to obtain a solution and adding an anti-solvent to the solution to obtain a crystalline taxane, wherein the anti-solvent is selected from the group consisting of hexane and heptane.
