  • Patent number: 8245767
Abstract: Heat transmission units are known wherein ribs for improving the cooling efficiency extend along the whole length of the flow path of the radiator. According to the invention, it is proposed, while keeping the constructional space at the same size, to provide a larger cooling surface in a first portion, which has a higher temperature gradient, and which is accomplished by a large number of ribs arranged therein, and to omit such ribs or to reduce their number in a region that has a lower temperature gradient, i.e. in a second portion. In this manner, the overall efficiency of such a heat transmission unit is improved.
