    Abstract: Packing tray for protecting fragile hollow conical objects, such as conical ice cream cones, which allows a stack of such conical objects to be held securely in a pocket of the packing tray, and which allows a plurality of stacked trays and objects to be packaged in cartons. The packing tray is a plastic foam sheet having a top wall and one or more recessed elongated pockets extending downwardly from the top wall, each pocket holding a stack of conical objects. Each pocket includes a floating bottom and flexible and fluted sidewall pleats for dissipating exterior applied forces and snugly engaging a stack of cones held in the pocket, thereby improving product protection, in a relatively low cost and lighter weight construction.

    Abstract: This disclosure also teaches a system and method for scanning a specimen to create a multidimensional scan. In one embodiment, a method for scanning the specimen to create a multidimensional scan can comprise illuminating a specimen with a light and dividing the specimen into a plurality of regions. The specimen can comprise a topography. The depths of the topography can be variable along a z-axis. Each of the regions can comprise a minimum depth and a maximum depth. The topography is between the minimum depth and the maximum depth. The method can also comprise sampling each of the regions at a plurality of focal planes orthogonal to the z-axis by capturing, at each focal plane, an image of the region. The image can be focused on the focal plane. Lastly, the method can comprise stitching together the images into a dimensional image for each of the focal planes.

This construction allows the cell bottoms in adjacent pockets and in adjacent trays of the stack to move relative to one another to accommodate various sizes and weights of fruit while still protecting the fruit from damage.

The alternating severed portions and connecting membranes are referred to herein as a notched hinge connection. The width, depth, and location of the connecting membranes can be adjusted so the hinge area is strong enough to withstand multiple openings during use.

The molded article is a coextruded tube having a tube wall of a non-conductive thermoplastic polymer and a central tubular bore. The tube further includes a coextruded conductive strip of conductive fibers in a thermoplastic polymer matrix, the conductive strip being disposed within a tubular passage in the tube wall extending the length of the tube, or within the central tubular bore. The strip is made from a pultruded fiber/polymer compound that can be co-extruded in strip form in the tube to provide an electrically conductive path along the tube length. Advantages include ease of manufacture, and one or more of improved handling (during use), reduced profile and reduced material costs.
