Abstract: Systems and methods for processing multi-page mail pieces include a first unwinder that produces single width web and a second unwinder that produces a double width web. A merger/aligner having a slitter is located downstream from the second unwinder, and a cutter is located downstream from the merger/aligner. The slitter slits the double width web into two single width webs, and all of the single width webs are fed into the cutter. The cutter cuts the webs cross-wise at appropriate locations to separate the webs into individual sheets of a desired length.
Abstract: A self-integrating insert sleeve assembly, comprising an insert sleeve and an expander pin, for insertion into an aperture of a work piece is provided. Upon installation, the insert sleeve component is incrementally expanded by interaction with the pin, and secured to the aperture of the work piece, such that the resulting aperture of the installed insert sleeve has a predetermined diameter, and the resulting structure now contains compressive residual stresses. Thus, the installed insert sleeve may be employed as a hole repair solution, allowing for the installation of an original size fastener per structural design within a damaged and reconditioned aperture, or simply for enhanced structural fatigue life. The installation of this insert sleeve may be done through various manners, including pull type, push type, and blind type installation processes.

Abstract: A snowmobile comprises a chassis with a front portion and a tunnel, and a power train unit supported by the chassis. The snowmobile further includes a plurality of ground-engaging members cooperating with the power train unit to operate the snowmobile. The plurality of ground-engaging members includes a pair of front skis and an endless track assembly. A snowmobile is also depicted which has a raised front chassis relative to the driveshaft, which raises the clearance of the front chassis for deep snow.
Abstract: A damping control system for a vehicle having a suspension located between a plurality of ground engaging members and a vehicle frame includes at least one adjustable shock absorber having an adjustable damping characteristic. The system also includes a controller coupled to each adjustable shock absorber to adjust the damping characteristic of each adjustable shock absorber, and a user interface coupled to the controller and accessible to a driver of the vehicle. The user interface includes at least one user input to permit manual adjustment of the damping characteristic of the at least one adjustable shock absorber during operation of the vehicle. Vehicle sensors may also be coupled to the controller to adjust the damping characteristic of the at least one adjustable shock absorber based on sensor output signals.

Abstract: A method of estimating the location of a wireless terminal without the addition of hardware to either the wireless terminal or to the telecommunication system's base stations is disclosed. The illustrative embodiment of the present invention is based on the observation that the signal strength of a signal from a transmitter is different at some locations, and, therefore, the location of a wireless terminal can be estimated by comparing the signal strength it currently observes against a map or database that correlates locations to signal strengths. Furthermore, the illustrative embodiment deduces the signal strength of the serving base station's control channel signal at the wireless terminal, RD, based on the principal of reciprocity.
