Abstract: A non-pneumatic tire is disclosed where a resilient wheel is mounted on a rim and the wheel has an inner ring, an outer ring and a plurality of flexible webs interconnected between the inner and outer rings. The flexible webs define openings in through the resilient wheel. The stiffness of the inner wheel at a position adjacent to the inner face is different than the stiffness of the inner wheel at a position adjacent to the outer face. This stiffness difference can be accomplished by providing inflated membranes in at least some of the openings or by molding the wheel with an asymmetric parting line. In addition, the wheels could be dynamically controlled by providing magnetically actuable membranes in some of the openings.

Abstract: Methods for generating more accurate location estimates are based on indicative factors. The factors are gleaned from wireless signals that were received by a wireless terminal and from other network-specific data. Each factor is probative of whether the wireless signals were received by the wireless terminal: (i) indoors versus outdoors, and/or (ii) “above-the-clutter” versus “below-the-clutter” of ambient wireless signals, and/or (iii) while moving at a certain speed classification, e.g., stationary/pedestrian versus vehicular speeds. Each factor tends to prove or disprove the particular characteristic. The result is an estimated probability, such as the probability that the wireless terminal received the signals indoors. The estimated probability is applied to the analysis of candidate locations, eliminating some candidates from further consideration. This enables computational resources to focus on the remaining higher-likelihood candidate locations and provides improved accuracy in the location estimate.
Abstract: A fastener, capable of securing work pieces accessible from only one side, is provided. The blind fastener includes a deformable sleeve and a pin, the pin having a main body section and a tail section. The main body section includes a shear load bearing section integrally connected to a lock collar engagement section on a first end and a pin stalk section on a second end, the pin stalk section integrally connected to a series of pin sleeve integrating grooves. The tail section is integrally connected between the main body, via a break notch, and a series of serrations. The sleeve includes a hollow tubular shank having a first sleeve end and a second sleeve end, where the first sleeve end has a sleeve head having an opening for receiving the main body section. At all times during assembly of the fastener, the series of serrations remain outside the sleeve, never passing through the sleeve.

Abstract: A snowmobile has an engine mounted with an exhaust port facing forwardly. A steering post extends substantially along a longitudinal centerline of the vehicle and over a top of the engine. An exhaust outlet is coupled to exhaust port and projects vertically upwardly to a position higher than the engine, and projecting rearwardly between the steering post and frame members. The rider position is re-defined relative to the snowmobile center of gravity.
Abstract: A clamp is disclosed for coupling an accessory to a tube. The clamp includes a base configured to receive an accessory, and first and second arms rotatably coupled to the base by way of flexible members. Another flexible member adjoins ends of the first and second arms to define a continuous clamping surface for receiving the tube. The clamping surface has a size substantially identical to an outer diameter of the tube. A locking system is configured to restrict rotational and lateral movement of the first and second arms relative to each other.
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to snowmobiles. More particularly, the present invention relates to the components of a snowmobile such as the frame, running boards and various other assemblies.
Abstract: A two-wheeled vehicle is disclosed. The two-wheeled vehicle may include a passenger hand grip which is stowable under a straddle seat of the vehicle. The two-wheeled vehicle may include saddlebags having an open bottom.
Abstract: A vehicle is shown such as a snowmobile, where a frame includes a tunnel and a front frame portion comprised of cast halves. A suspension system is comprised of upper and lower control arms connected to the front frame portion. Some of the frame components are adhesively fixed together. A powertrain is supported by the frame, and is comprised of an engine and a clutch. The clutch includes a clutch guard supporting an oil container. The engine has an exhaust system which extends through the front frame portion. The snowmobile also has a rear snow deflector.

Abstract: A method of using a non-GPS-derived technique to estimate the location of an Assisted-GPS-enabled wireless terminal for the purposes of generating location-specific assistance data for the wireless terminal is disclosed. The wireless terminal then uses the assistance data to acquire and process one or more GPS signals and to derive information that is probative of the wireless terminal's location. The GPS-derived location information is then combined with non-GPS-derived location to form an estimate of the location of the wireless terminal that is better than can be derived from either alone. This combination of GPS-derived and non-GPS techniques is particularly useful when the wireless terminal can only acquire one or two GPS signals because it is not possible to determine the location of the wireless terminal with only two GPS signals alone.
