Abstract: A multispectral imaging color measurement system, comprising a dark room, a sample platform and an imaging device for capturing said object being measured; a controllable illumination device, a filter wheel unit, an imaging signal processing unit and an electronic control unit. A method for processing imaging signals of the multispectral imaging color measurement is also proposed. The multispectral imaging color measurement system and the method for processing imaging signals thereof can overcome the inaccuracy of traditional digital imaging systems and the limits of spectrophotometer systems and provide users in the textile industry with highly accurate color measurement and evaluation.
Abstract: A posture correction girdle comprises a body wrapping shell, a plurality of pockets and a plurality of paddings is disclosed. The paddings are configured to be inserted into pockets at predetermined positions. Thereby, when the posture correction girdle is worn by the user, pressure is exerted onto a corresponding predetermined section of the user's spine for posture correction purpose. The posture correction girdle further comprises a pair of elastic shoulder straps, an elastic waist strap and a plurality of elongated bones to provide additional support to the user's spine. A micro-system comprising a processor, an output device and a plurality of sensors can also be embedded into the posture correction girdle to provide information regarding the efficiency of the posture correction girdle and the progression of the treatment. Such information is provided to the users using the output device.

Abstract: The present invention provides a site-specific pegylated arginase conjugate and method for producing thereof. The site-specific pegylated arginase is homogeneous in molecular weight and shows therapeutic effect for treating cancers and viral infections. The method for producing the arginase conjugate comprises genetically modifying the gene encoding an arginase so that the PEG moiety can be attached to the enzyme at a predetermined, specific intended sites. This is achieved by removing the PEG-attaching amino acid residue(s) at undesirable site(s) while keeping or adding cysteine(s) at the desirable site(s) of the enzyme. Two exemplary embodiments of the pegylated arginase conjugate are directed to human arginase I (HAI) where a polyethylene glycol (PEG) moiety is site-specific covalently bonded to Cys45 of the enzyme and Bacillus caldovelox arginase (BCA) where a polyethylene glycol (PEG) moiety is site-specific covalently bonded to Cys161 of the enzyme.

Abstract: A method for retarding or reversing progression of myopia of a viewer includes providing an object in front of the viewer; providing a transparent layer between the viewer and the object; and providing a primary image on the transparent layer, the transparent layer allows the viewer to see the object as a secondary image simultaneously with the primary image, wherein the secondary image is focused in front of the central region of the retina. A method for reducing hyperopia of a viewer includes providing an object in front of the viewer to provide a primary image; providing a transparent layer between the viewer and the object; providing a secondary image on the transparent layer, the transparent layer allows the viewer to see the primary image simultaneously with the secondary image, wherein the secondary image is focused behind the central region of the retina. Abstract: Robust design method for a textile-manufacturing-dedicated multiphase asynchronous motor, including the steps: designing a motor with design variables for a high-efficient, energy-saving, multiphase asynchronous motor; selecting a number of controllable variables and their level values to build an inner orthogonal table; selecting a number of noise factors and their level values to build an outer orthogonal table; using a Taguchi method, determining the optimal combination of level values of the controllable variables and corresponding values ranges for a tolerance design, resulting in an optimal design scheme; producing technical drawings for each parts of the motor according to the optimal design scheme and producing a physical motor; comparing the performance of the physical motor with the predetermined performance target and repeating the above steps as many times as necessary until the performance target is met and the motor achieves the optimal balance between the quality and cost.
Abstract: A method of fabricating Fiber Bragg gratings in a micro/nanofiber using ultrashort pulse irradiation, the method includes elongating and flame-brushing a single mode optical fiber to create a micro/nanofiber, and generating the ultrashort pulse irradiation to induce a plurality of refractive index changes at predetermined intervals within the micro/nanofiber, wherein the ultrashort pulse propagates through a focusing element and a diffractive element prior to propagating on the micro/nanofiber.
Abstract: A drive method and system for an LED display panel. The method comprises: converting an HDMI/DVI video signal into an RGB signal; dividing the RGB signal into N independent code streams and re-ranking same; and periodically switching a direct current provided to an LED display module (30) at least between a first current I1 and a second current I2. The system comprises an FPGA controller (20), and a video signal decoder (10), a first external memory (41), a second external memory (42) and an LED display module (30) which are respectively connected to the FPGA controller (20). The FPGA controller (20) comprises N LED drive modules (231-23N) which are connected in parallel. The drive method and system can enhance the luminous efficacy of an LED, and can also conduct linear dimming on the LED.

Abstract: A vertical type light emitting diode includes a nitride semiconductor having a p-n conjunction structure with a transparent material layer formed on a p type clad layer, the transparent material layer having a refractive index different from that of the p type clad layer and having a pattern structure of mesh, punched plate, or one-dimensional grid form, etc. A reflective metal electrode layer is formed on the transparent material layer as a p-electrode. A stereoscopic pattern is formed in the transparent material layer and the p-electrode deposited, and thereby forming the pattern in the p-electrode. Depositing the p-electrode on only 10 to 70% of the upper portion of the p type clad layer in an ultraviolet ray light emitting diode such that an area where the p type clad layer is exposed is wide increases the transmittance of ultraviolet rays through an area where the p-electrode is not deposited.

Abstract: A system using a three-coil topology for wireless power transfer is disclosed. The system comprises a primary resonator coupled to a power source, a repeater resonator and a receiver resonator. The primary resonator has a primary coil, and the repeater resonator has a repeater coil adjacent to the primary coil. The repeater coil and the primary coil are separated by a distance selected, and the repeater coil is configured, to amplify a primary-coil current by inductively generating a repeater-coil current that is substantially greater than the primary-coil current. A magnetic field contributed from both the primary-coil current and the repeater-coil current is generated while the power source needs not provide a terminal voltage across the repeater coil, thereby discouraging occurrence of voltage stress at the power source. The receiver resonator has a receiver coil, which receives the magnetic field to inductively generate a receiver-coil current for feeding to a load.
