  • Patent number: 9050959
Abstract: The invention relates to a drive train (1) for a hydraulic drive where a friction coupling (3) is arranged between a hydraulic machine (2) and a consumer (5). The coupling (3) has two parts (20A, 20B) which are displaceable towards each other in the axial direction (18) and are connected to the hydraulic machine (2) or to the consumer (5). Hydraulic fluid is introduced by means of a pressure line (28) into a pressure chamber (27) formed between the parts (20A, 20B), as a result of which the complementarily formed friction surfaces (9A, 9B) become frictionally locked together and a torque is able to be transmitted between the hydraulic machine (2) and the consumer (5). The friction surfaces (9A, 9B) are each fixedly connected at least radially to the shaft of the hydraulic machine (2) or of the consumer (5).

  • Publication number: 20150123758
Abstract: A transformer includes a core of magnetic permeable material around which both a primary coil and a secondary coil extend. A sheets of electrical insulation are located between the layers of windings of the primary and secondary coils, between the primary and secondary coils, and between the core and the coils. The sheet is formed of material that is non-conductive to electricity, and has a first major surface and a second major surface opposing each other. A first plurality of ribs projects outward from the first major surface. Optionally a second plurality of ribs projects outward from the second major surface of the sheet. The force exerted on to the inter-layer or inter-winding electrical insulation sheets during the winding process are absorbed by deformation of one or more of the ribs thereby inhibiting that force from adversely affecting the electrical insulating property of the sheet.

  • Patent number: 8906523
Abstract: An apparatus, method, and system to harvest and store electromagnetic energy is disclosed. The present invention uses, for example, conductive surfaces within the energy storage component itself as a means of electromagnetic energy collection. The surface may be an integral portion of the energy device, such as a charge collection surface within a battery or a capacitor that mainly provides the battery or a capacitor with a necessary function. In another embodiment of the invention a metallic or conductive surface is added to and specifically built into the energy device during manufacturing for the main purpose of collecting electromagnetic energy for the energy device but is otherwise not necessary for the energy storage component. Once the energy is collected, it can be rectified either via rectification components that were built directly into the energy storage component during its manufacture or connected external to the energy storage component but within the energy device.

  • Publication number: 20130293017
Abstract: A set of two or more modular-critical-power-distribution skids are arranged in a redundant power center configuration to supply power to electrical loads in a modular data center facility. The skids are housed in hardened buildings. The uninterruptable power supply is electrically and mechanically connected into the multiple power distribution cabinets, all of which are mounted onto a steel framed support structure, which supports a weight of those uninterruptable power supplies and power distribution cabinets. The environmental control system controls a cooling system for the modular-critical-power-distribution skids. Electrical power from the A-side and B-side connects in a redundant power configuration to electrical loads in the cooling system.

  • Patent number: 8535396
Abstract: The present invention relates to apparatus, compositions and methods of fabricating high performance thin-film batteries on metallic substrates, polymeric substrates, or doped or undoped silicon substrates by fabricating an appropriate barrier layer composed, for example, of barrier sublayers between the substrate and the battery part of the present invention thereby separating these two parts chemically during the entire battery fabrication process as well as during any operation and storage of the electrochemical apparatus during its entire lifetime. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention thin-film batteries fabricated onto a thin, flexible stainless steel foil substrate using an appropriate barrier layer that is composed of barrier sublayers have uncompromised electrochemical performance compared to thin-film batteries fabricated onto ceramic substrates when using a 700° C. post-deposition anneal process for a LiCoO2 positive cathode.
