    Abstract: An expansible load-bearing junction box hanger assembly adapted for installation from beneath the ceiling and through a junction box opening in the ceiling, includes a pair of walls having a plurality of spike protrusions to engage two spaced adjoining ceiling joists and an elongated linearly expanding brace device which is aligned with and connected between the walls. The brace device expands from a short to a longer length to force each of the walls to contact and engage their respective ceiling joists. Each wall is provided with a receiving groove adjacent to the spike protrusions. The hanger assembly further includes an alarm device, a battery cell, and a contact switch disposed in each receiving groove and actuated when the walls engage their respective ceiling joists. The contact switches electrically connect the alarm device to the battery cell to operate the alarm device when actuated, thereby indicating that the hanger assembly has fully engaged the ceiling joists.

    Abstract: A take-down rifle which permits easy removal and reassembly of the barrel to the receiver portion of the rifle and incorporating a system for effectively accommodating for wear in the mating parts thus providing for proper alignment between the rifle's two main components. The system includes a barrel bracket secured to the forearm, an adjustable collar threaded on the receiver end of the barrel and in contact with the barrel bracket, and the bonding of the barrel to the forearm by means of a low durometer elastomeric adhesive. Adjustment for wear can be made by turning the adjusting collar in a direction to cause the barrel to move in a direction away from the barrel bracket which accommodates for any thread wear between the receiver and the barrel.

    Abstract: The preferred latch device consists of two elements, attached to interfitting longitudinally movable slide members in a relationship to pass adjacent to one another as the slide members move longitudinally. The elements each carry stops which are positioned to engage one another as the elements come into an adjacent relationship to limit further travel of the slide members. One of the elements is pivotally attached to its slide member, and movable both clockwise and counter clockwise, to displace the stops sufficiently to clear its stops on the other element and permit the slide members to be disconnected. Preferably the rear faces of the stops on one element are sloped in parallel planes to engage the stops on the other element as the slide members are being reconnected, and to cam the pivotal element sufficiently to cause the stops to clear one connection, permitting the slide members to be easily reconnected.

    Abstract: A pocket door suspension system which permits the door to be moved, without skewing or sagging, from a closed position to an open and retracted position adjacent a supporting wall, the system having two telescoping slide assemblies mounted to the supporting wall, the door being attached by hinges to moveable members of the slide assemblies. Two cables are provided, each attached at one end to the back end of one fixed slide member and at the other end to the front end of the other fixed slide member. Each cable is slideably attached to the moveable members of the slide assemblies such that the pair of cables trace an "I" figure, the pair of cables effectively preventing the moveable members of the slide assemblies from moving out of a predetermined relationship to each other.

    Abstract: A drum lock device is disclosed for an open-head drum which has a flanged lip at the open end with a mating lid therefor. The drum lock device has a lug-type ring closure, a lockable bolt, and a shuttle wrench captively held on the bolt by a cap. The ring closure, which annularly attaches the lid to the lip, has a split therethrough with internally threaded lugs on either side. The shuttle wrench is captively held between the cap and the apertured boss of the bolt, and is slidably positionable between engagement with and disengagement from the lockable bolt. When the shuttle wrench is engaged, the lockable bolt is enabled, and, when the shuttle wrench is disengaged the rotation of the lockable bolt is disabled.

    Abstract: Injection molding method removing weld lines from a part, such as a parison, which weld lines are caused by the interruption or splitting of the flow of plastic material around core support pins or the like by the provision of an annular mixing chamber which opens into the plastic material flow passage. The plastic material is caused to move radially into the mixing chamber where it is spread by reason of the increasing volume encountered, accompanied by a reversal of flow radially inwardly into an annular injection gate. The movement of plastic material within the chamber and the resultant increase in temperature by reason of shear, eliminates the weld lines which have been formed in the material by reason of the splitting of flow around the pins.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for inspecting integrated circuit probe cards in which the probe points of the probe card are scanned across a checkplate having a conductivity transition border. The impedances between the probe points and the checkplate as they cross the conductivity transition border are measured to determine when the probe points cross the border. The positions of the probe card when each of the probe points crosses the border are measured to determine the positions of the probe points relative to each other. In one embodiment, the checkplate is formed by a square conductive plate having three quadrants of insulated material and a single quadrant of conductive material mounted on its upper surface. These conductive strips connected to the conductive plate are positioned between the quadrants of insulative material to form the conductivity transition border. In other embodiments, multiple parallel strips or a single dot of conductive material are surrounded by insulative material.

    Abstract: Interlocking joints such as box finger joints and dovetail joints are made in wood parts by a combination including a body for attachment to a tool table having a guide slot in the upper surface for guiding a work feeder. The combination includes a router tool and a vertically adjustable tool holder for holding and carrying the router tool with the router cutter axis parallel to the upper surface of the tool table attached to the body. The tool holder is formed substantially in the shape of a sector of a circle and is attached to the body by a pivotal attachment substantially at the center of the arc of the sector. The tool holder includes a circular arc shaped gear rack at the arcuate edge thereof, and a pinion gear is rotatably attached to the body and in engagement with the gear rack or vertical adjustment of the tool holder.

    Abstract: This invention is concerned with a locking device for a drum which seals and locks the bung hole and vent hole of 35 or 55 gallon drums to prevent unauthorized access thereto. The device includes two swivel locks, each consisting of a lock cap containing an externally threaded base and a swivel and a lock bar.After the swivel locks are threaded into the bung hole and vent hole, the swivels are rotated until their holes align. A lock bar having a flanged end of greater width than the hole of the swivel and a hole at its other end is passed through the holes. The shackle of a padlock or other locking device is then passed through the lock bar hole and locked. Means for rotatably retaining the swivel in the lock cap are also provided.

    Abstract: A low-distortion transformer-coupled circuit. An amplifier is constructed to have a negative output impedance equal to the resistance of the primary winding of a coupling transformer to which the amplifier is connected thereby cancelling the distortion component produced by the transformer distortion current flowing through the primary winding resistance. The input to the amplifier is thus coupled to the secondary winding of the transformer. A low-frequency feedback circuit is provided between the amplifier output and a non-inverting input thereof. Means is provided for adjusting the negative output impedance of the amplifier to match circuit parameters. Alternatively, the coupling transformer employs two matched primary windings and one secondary winding, and the amplifier is constructed to provide a signal to each primary winding.
