Abstract: An enhanced, co-formed fibrous web structure is disclosed. The web structure may have a co-formed core layer sandwiched between two scrim layers. The core layer may be formed of a blend of cellulose pulp fibers and melt spun filaments. The scrim layers may be formed of melt spun filaments. Filaments of one or both of the scrim layers, and optionally the core layer, may also be meltblown filaments. The fibrous web structure may have a Consumer Preference Indication (governing allocation of melt spun filaments between core layer and scrim layers) greater than 0. Alternatively, the filaments forming the scrim layers may constitute from 1 to 13 percent of the weight of the structure. Alternatively, the scrim layers may have a combined basis weight of from 0.1 gsm to less than 3.0 gsm. A method for forming the structure, including direct formation of layers, is also disclosed.

Abstract: The methods and apparatuses herein relate to inkjet printing a substrate at a desired print resolution. A substrate advances at a first speed under the first printhead and the second printhead such that a desired print resolution exceeds the maximum print resolutions of a first printhead and a second printhead. When the substrate is advancing at the first speed, the first printhead ejects ink onto the advancing substrate at a first firing frequency to create a first printed zone, and the second printhead ejects ink onto the advancing substrate at a second firing frequency to create a second printed zone. In turn, the first printed zone and the second zone together define a printed region having the desired print resolution.
Abstract: A method of creating a vascular network for printing a fluid onto a substrate is disclosed. The method includes the steps of: determining a deposit objective; selecting a fluid having at least one fluid property; designing a vascular network to achieve the deposit objective; selecting a fluid delivery system, and depositing the fluid in liquid form that solidifies into the vascular network according to the deposit objective.

Abstract: A child-resistant cartridge adapted to be used with an automatic brewing machine. The cartridge has a base and a lidding. The base can contain a pharmaceutical active. The lidding can be a multilayer laminate with an outer layer and an inner layer. The cartridge can be made out of tear resistant materials that are sufficient to prevent 70% of children from accessing the contents of three or more cartridges during a Child-Resistant Screening Test.
Abstract: A solid stick antiperspirant composition is provided. The antiperspirant composition includes aluminum zirconium tetrachlorohydrex glycine having a concentration from about 10% to about 35% by weight of the composition, an anhydrous liquid carrier, one or more structurants having a concentration from about 15% to about 25% by weight of the composition, wherein the one or more structurants comprises one or more waxes and a non-ionic exthoxylated linear alcohol having a carbon chain length from about 20 to about 40. The solid stick antiperspirant composition is a single phase.

Abstract: A unitary deflection member. The unitary deflection member can have a backside defining an X-Y plane and a thickness in a Z-direction. The unitary deflection member can also have a reinforcing member and a plurality of protuberances positioned on the reinforcing member. Each protuberance can have a three-dimensional shape such that any cross-sectional area of the protuberance parallel to the X-Y plane can have an equal or greater area than any cross-sectional area of the protuberance being a greater distance from the X-Y plane in the Z-direction.

Abstract: A safety device for a mechanical motion device and a method for protecting a person or object in the vicinity of a mechanical motion device are described herein. The safety device may include: a shroud; a coupling mechanism; and a detection device. The coupling mechanism joins the shroud in a displaceable manner to a mechanical motion device. The detection device is configured for communication with the safety control system of a mechanical motion device. The detection device is capable of detecting misalignment of the shroud from its initial aligned position and/or a collision between the shroud and a person or object. The detection device may send a signal to the safety control system of the mechanical motion device to at least slow the movement of the mechanical motion device before the mechanical motion device reaches the location of the collision of the shroud with an object or person.

Abstract: The present invention relates to apparatus and methods for winding and unwinding web materials, the web materials having a plurality of narrow lanes which form a spool. In a first aspect of the invention each lane of web material is defined by a width measured in the axial direction of the spool and between a minimum and a maximum radial height measured radially from a central axis of the spool. Each lane is wound, in turn, with web material up to the maximum radial height, the web material is folded by a first, second, third and fourth folds so that the web material is realigned parallel to the adjacent lane and wound to form the adjacent lane.
